In planning for an excursion into Mexico I got a Tourist visa, good for 180 days. Noticed the other day it had expired while I procrastinated. Went to Sonoita today to get a current one. When I got the visa they stamped my passport. Today the nice lady took one look at the old stamp and told me I had to turn that old visa in and there was a $500 fine if I did not !!!! ZOWIE Fortunately I had tucked the old one away and was able to provide it for cancellation !!
Lesson for the day: If you get a Tourist Visa, be sure to turn it in at the border !! I was told it could be turned in anywhere, just get your paspport stamped.
