Shoulder Riding on ave. Benemerito de las Americas Prior to US Border

Some tense moments on the way back to the US today around 3:00PM. We waited just over an hour to cross. Please note that although it's dangerous, riding the shoulder on Sunday's is PERMITTED by Sonoyota Police. Not everyone knows this so they think the clown passing on the right is trying to cut them off. Again it's permitted. Doesn't make much sense though because it all bottlenecks to one lane before the checkpoint anyway. Be patient and let people in.

On another note, I saw the cops out in force today, stopping locals from escorting people to the front of the line. Can you believe that S%$t?

How would a local have the authority to take a payment then let a gringo cut in line in front of another gringo? I can see fist fights breaking out because of this. Maybe worse.
My mistake, it's Mexico.

Not to be argumentative but a 2nd line on the shoulder isn’t automatically OK on Sundays according to the Sonoyta polo a chief. His comments were that at times when there gets to be too many people they will create a 2nd line for public safety reasons, primarily so that the highway does not become blocked. His commitment was be sure there were police there to guide the traffic and not to allow cutting. That being said there are plenty of cutters but just don’t assume it’s OK because it’s a Sunday. How you will know it’s the police making a second line vs cutting I have no idea.

NO I CAN'T!!!! WOW!!! That's crazy because usually they're supervising the "move" to the front of the line! LOLLLLLLLL Back in May on a random Monday we had an hour and 20 minute wait. Lot's of "movers and shakers" out there drumming up business "al frente". As one of the "supervisors" was near us a few times I looked over and asked my GF to contemplate for a second how crazy it is that there is a "cuerno de chivo" in that car right now?! And one in the other 3 or 4 cars that were doing the "work". Almost like contemplating the Universe, crazy. It was nerve racking having to tell chino de cuervo guy like 4 times politely "no thank you" to go to the front. On the last time he seemed frustrated. Problem was made WAY worse by disrespectful GRINGOS that as JoseAZ notes, were too privileged to wait ONE HOUR.

What is argument really? A discussion right? A different opinion? This is a discussion forum. Be argumentative.

To your point. The second line situation is definitely a weird one. The same trip that I just commented on above, I could tell through experience that a second line had just been created ahead but couldn't really see well enough to confirm 100%. I could tell because the line had started to move more rapidly all of a sudden and I could see vehicles starting to move to the right ahead but line of sight was limited and couldn't confirm.

I didn't want to move out to the right and start to pass a bunch of UNAWARE individuals and be accused of CUTTING the line and be forced to the back. So I pulled out to the right and kind of sat there for a while until more people realized what was happening and then from a couple hundred yards or more I knew for a fact that a second line was created and then SNIPED like 40 cars on the right at least!!! LOL shit if they're not paying attention that's ON YOU MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN...........
