The Homeport...A reason a week it is a bad idea

I didn't realize that. Which cruise lines have signed on? Where does one go about booking a cruise?

Peso/US dollar exchange rip off in RP restaurants.

Honestly I'm no expert in currency, but it just seems odd that there would be any "service fees" to pay with pesos in Mexico. I always expect them when paying in dollars though. At the very least, the staff should probably say "hey, if you pay in dollars, there won't be a fee." I think the...

Peso/US dollar exchange rip off in RP restaurants.

Max's is a popular breakfast spot in that little shopping center, is that what you're referring to? http://www.biegs.com/max/ http://www.puertopenascoliving.com/rpdinning/maxscaferockypoint.html

Will do... I think I've actually met him before while eating at Lat 31, seemed like a good guy.

    Midweek Bird Island Boats

The FB link didn't work for me... A little off topic, but does he do fishing trips too? I'm definitely a novice when it comes to fishing, but am planning on bringing about 15 people down in April. Many of the people have never been to RP before and are asking about fishing a trip. If he does do...

    Building Blocks, Home Port

Yeah my guess is it probably gets finished to some degree, much like the airport. Since there more than likely won't be actual cruises there anytime soon, they should probably move fast to make it a launch spot for fishing charters, dinner cruises, etc. Right now that area around the Malecon is...

    Building Blocks, Home Port

Fitting that this mess is proceeding right behind another unfinished project. Hopefully the botanical garden works out. Also still think they can probably do something cool w/ the jetty when complete. Fishing, market, a good place for tourists to get charters, etc.

    Puerto Penasco Home Port

Yeah it's definitely nice, but I was referring to the fact that it's never used. As a few of us on here have mentioned, RP needs major infrastructure work before throwing all this money at exotic projects like cruise terminals, airports, etc. If you build a nice, clean town that is safe and easy...

    Puerto Penasco Home Port

Best part about that article was the author boasting about the "success" of the airport. If this project follows the same path we'll have all be staring at an empty pier for the next 7+ years...

    Insurance question

I hear what you're saying, but unfortunately in Mexico, these types of things are par for the course. Whether you were ripped off, or it was an honest mistake, it won't be investigated to the extent that it would in the states. As was mentioned before, this type of thing would most likely lead...

Restaurant business is tough, gotta have thick skin. Ed, thanks for being receptive to the feedback, it can't be easy. I'll be sure to stop in next time we're down and give your place a try.

Looking to work in PP any ideas? (serious question)

We stayed at a resort in Ko Samet about 5 years ago. To get there we took a speed boat from the main land. Upon arrival an employee brought out a portable ramp to the beach that made getting out much easier (just had to roll up pants a little bit). As for the Malecon side, not sure the logistics...

Looking to work in PP any ideas? (serious question)

This one appears to be legit as well -- http://www.wahm.com/jobs.html Despite the name, many men seem to use it as well. One thing to remember, a lot online jobs won't pay much ~$10/hr... but given the wages in RP, I'm assuming something like this would be better. Also, I've had some friends...

Looking to work in PP any ideas? (serious question)

No worries... Back to the water taxi idea... A local should give that a shot, maybe partner with a restaurant in the Malecon ($2 off meal with boat ride, etc). I'm sure somebody has an extra panga lying around, would just need to create some sort of signage. How much business could those...

Looking to work in PP any ideas? (serious question)

I REALLY like this idea... Only question would be where to pick up/drop off at each location? How long do you think it would take each way? Considering regular taxis are charging around $15 for this, I'm sure there's potential here.

    ProAlliance Insurance

This is correct. I know a lot of people here love Rosie due to the exceptional service she has provided, but this is completely unacceptable. It's extremely important to contact the carrier directly. Also any future payments should also be made directly to the carrier. Obviously nobody knows...
