Damn we fished all day in SanDiego off some cattle boat called the Mahilini first week of october, caught 174 or so yellowtail and 1 dorado. Not one of the yellowtails where bigger than 20 inches, the place it's so overfished its sickening.

I dont know what the hell the name is, its a big ass hotel at the very end of las conchas, my highschool buddy Mike Kowall that owned Cafe Bistro on Freemont showed me where it was a couple years ago. There's giant trigger fish on that reef. Basically park in the dirt and head straight out...

Drive through las conchas, go to the hotel, paddle about a mile out, that's where he's fishing.
