Do you know what kilometer post you were at? Was it like 5-10? That would still be fairly close to Sonoyta. I can't imagine the Sonoyta cops venturing too far away from town because technically they would have to drive all the way back to the police station with each 'offender' to pay the fine.

I would say you can easily live on $1000/month or less. I assume you won't be spending money on atv rentals etc. Your biggest expense would be eating and drinking out. If you don't do that much, 1k goes a long way in RP.
