I'm with Joe, regarding the slow movement on the Malecon. It's almost as if they're trying to starve out the fish/shrimp vendors before they throw them off to another section of town. If you've got a last-minute hankering for some fresh shrimp and room in your ice chest while heading out of town...

I wanted to hit up Vina del Mar when I roll into town on Sunday. I know it's a one-way (going the opposite way) for the majority of that path...Is there a way to park anywhere near there? A walk through the Malecon is fun, but damn, that's quite a hike!

Haven't seen much about the Malecon progress since a couple of January posts and was wondering if they're going to finish in time for the Carnaval parades, or at least by next weekend for the Spring Break traffic. Last pics I saw still showed the area unpaved. Thanks!
