12lb Mono is ideal IMHO for shore or kayak. I have 3 setups for the yak and only my open face level wind Penn gets the 20 lb for bottom fishing the inshore reefs or rocks in the Cholla Bay area. From shore in July I really wouldnt mess with bottom fishing a drop shot rig unless you're certain...

What a joke. Ive said this the last couple of Spring/early summer months, has anyone seen consistent wind like this ever in the past?! I feel like every weekend the wind is 12+mph. This weekend doesn't even look fishable... SMH
