We filled up at the Pemex, and paid $9.42 pesos/liter, which converts to $2.71 dollars/gallon!! (We got 13.2 dollars/pesos). As if the weather, the people and the food weren't good enough reasons to visit Penasco, you have cheap gas as well!

Seadweller, about the bag- are you talking about the bags you purchase at Home Depot? You add water, and hang up the bag- they stink, but capture flies.

The store is Muebles Coloniales- and it's a local store. They are very nice and have a better selection (last time I checked) than Copel. The only thing I would recommend is trying to get a range/stove with a thermostat and self-lighting oven

Thanks Seadweller and Ladyjeeper! The bolillo brick oven is exactly what I'm looking for- you can't duplicate that taste in a regular oven. And I'll try Camelitas for tortillas- and I'll bring my Mexican butter as well.

We at the chicken breasts from the Bodega, and it was very good.

No traffic at 4:00 pm on Sunday either, but the BP agent said they were expecting a rush as they keep track of the number of cars/motorcycles going down vs. what had come up, and he said they were way behind. So he thought they would be coming back later Sunday or Monday.

I'm not a huge fan of motorcycles, but Penasco Old Port looks FANTASTIC!! All the hard work they did really made it seem like a Mexican village. Thanks for the great picture.

The highway from Penasco to Sonoyta was clear, but on Sunday the Caborca highway had water where the Sonoyta River flows (I'm sure it's clear now). They're predicting rain on Sunday/Monday so we'll see how the roads look.

Sorry to hear that- I get up early for work, so I like hearing the 9:00 p.m. news on Channel 11. But at least Channel 13 fairly reports news about Penasco.
