That's pretty close to when we went to the one across Cholla Bay as well, so I guess that just makes us both old, and maybe better too..LOL

    Directions to Shell Beach?

And I know personally that it's been called shell beach for over 50 years. Now I've dug 4 feet deep through nothing but castle shells at the north end of La pinta, and I never did find out how deep they went. There are more than a few places where shells have settled for a hundreds of years...

    Directions to Shell Beach?

The first time I was there was over 50 years ago, and I think we took our boat over. When I decided to find it again as a adult in 85, I followed fence lines and trails to get there. You couldn't do that today though. I'm glad it was marked as Shell Beach on the map, it's always nice to get...

    Directions to Shell Beach?

Now I'm not saying it's the best place to pick up pristine shells, but I do know it's called shell beach because of the number of shells that there are there. It only makes sense, that bay is a natural catch basin, just like La Pinta and Marua.

    Directions to Shell Beach?

I'm not sure now day's how people get over there, but it has to be easier than it was years ago. Not sure, but Mark must have been very close to it on this trip over to the other side of Cholla bay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51BzyIeRSSg

    Highway from Sonoita Flooded

Great pictures and story. It's certainly not your typical "border town", most of this (below) is what I always stress when telling my friends about Sonoyta.

    Directions to Shell Beach?

I think that Mark knows this, probably some other old timers too. "Shell beach" is kind of a remote beach north of Cholla bay, but the beaches mentioned are all great for beach combing for shells, and probably what their looking for. Not sure, but I think Mark might have Kayaked over to shell...

And my point was without going into a bunch of long winded bull, and without even saying if I agree or not, (I didn't) is that they have; and it's not a new phenomena that just poped up. Not only can they have laws like that, they do, and have for generations.

Of couse but there are a lot of other variables that go into what it takes to make it today with such a low income. People get taken for a ride on many levels when their the working poor. Why do you think places like Aron's are so big? Some people just can't just lay down the money for their...

Thanks for taking the time to see what the real take is on that number, and why Gary. I'll tell you what, I'd rather be making a $100,000 and paying taxes, than someone who works damn hard for $25,000 and has two kids and is trying to make ends meet with everything going up but his wages; even...

Again, it's people seeing things the way they want to see them. Today, TPC released a new study that examines why these people end up paying no federal income tax. The number one reason should come as no surprise. It’s because they have low incomes. As my colleague Bob Williams notes: A couple...

    Highway from Sonoita Flooded

I think a lot of the water could be coming from here, it looks like a river outside on my dirt road. Oh, and by the way, it's just not a Mexican thing about timing. They have Senator Hwy all tore up for over a mile starting at Gurley, and yesterday I had to go half way out of town over on the...

I stated "For myself I've never filed a lawsuit, or been on disability, though I'm sure I could have won a lawsuit or two, and for sure collected disability insurance. It's certainly not a new law, the dram act, as we called it in Oregon, was alive and well in my years there. I know of a case where a Tavern was sued using that law, and they were found liable after serving a drunk who left their establishment and killed a person in a auto accident. For sure one...
