45,000 expected for Spring Break.

This year Spring break is March 4 - 20th. You will miss the largest crowds here this weekend. The crowds are pretty tame compared to 15-20 years ago.
The 45,000 number is optimistic at best, 25k is more realistic, when spread over 17 days is manageable.
The only big issue will be crossing the border both ways Fri-Mon during those 3 weekends it falls on.
Expect a wait when crossing at peak times. Look on-line for border waits.

Thanks brokenwave for the information.
I will be heading down next Monday for two weeks of relaxation, fish and shrimp tacos and a few drinks. lol
The weather looks really great and staying mild so I'm ready now but can wait until some of the kids go home.

At 1200 noon, Saturday the line at the border going into Mexico is 1.5 miles, no fun. Tons of traffic heading north. Based on the cars in ajo and gila bend it's going to be even worse by 1 to 2pm.

Heard usa is checking cars going south as well many are getting red light. They only had 1 lane open yesterday when our friends came thru.

Going to have to make border bigger/flow better if you want to have a homeport. One lane open doesnt cut it and could start to hinder tourists.

It took 1.5 hours, on the US side there was 2 agents talking to drivers and 6 just standing around laughing, the Mexico agents were waving most people through and only stopping vehicles towing enclosed trailers.
Weather is perfect and some nice crowds at changos and jjs.
A whole week of this bliss, Nice.
