Does anyone have a reasonable estimate of the actual population of RP? Going back as far as a couple of years ago I keep seeing different figures. The mayor says 60,000; someone else says 75,000; others vary between 35,000 and 45,000. For cryin' out loud, how many people really live there?
And while I'm at it, what about the number of gringos who actually live there full time? Someone (a realtor) told me late last year, very enthusiastically, that there must be "at least 3,000 full time gringos" living there. I don't think so. If there are that many I sure don't see them out and about, especially in the summer. Does the number even reach 1,000 or is it more like in the (low) hundreds? Or??? Does anyone have a decent handle on the real numbers?
