Just happened to stumble upon Cox Channel 13 and Pat McMahon's show "The Morning Scramble" . He was doing a segment on BoomerFest and interviewing one of the lead singers and the promoter. Unfortunately didn't catch the singer's name.

Here are the links and the video of the interview will probably pop up later as it was just live about 8:10am this morning.

Pat asked the promoter about capacity, and he said they have room for 38,000 people. That seemed kind of crazy to me, but I have no idea how well promoted this event will be.

That's Steve McCarty from the Steve Miller Band. He spends a lot of time in Penasco.

I wonder what the reservation (condo) people are thinking. I went on to look at places for those dates and it was regular pricing. I know my place was blocked for awhile but then they took it off. I did talk to some other owner when I was down and they like I were worried about the large crowds renting. I just remember our Palm Spring place during the Coachelle Festival. Ugly. Some owners are going to blocj their place. I would be afraid of over crowding of units.

Are the numbers for condo rental reservations for the Boomerfest weekend up compared to the same time period last year? It's only 10 weeks out. You would think people would already be reserving rooms. Be a good indicator of the numbers planning to attend. Considering the age group being targeted and ticket prices I don't see many people sleeping in tents.

If you look at the map: https://www.boomerfestdays.com/map-of-boomerville/ There are several ridiculous things about it. First, has any construction begun? I'll drive out to see today. Second, look at how many campers there are, and how small the seating area is. There's no way they can fit all those people in there. Third, they say they are going to build roads, and again, no construction has begun to my knowledge. Fourth, they say there will be beachfront RV spaces with hookups at Playa del Oro, and if you look at the facebook page, Playa del Oro is desperately trying to get in touch with them. https://www.facebook.com/BoomerFestDays. Fifth, there are no sound stacks indicated, and as a former sound technician, that's an important part of any concert this size. Also the stage is ridiculouslty small. Comments?

I just took a good look at the proposed map. It is so obvous this thing is never going to happen. At least not the way they're advertising it. And, what is a "Silent Disco Tent"? Just the staffing to pull this off will cost a fortune. I can't believe anybody would actually send these people money.

The taco tent a tiny 15 feet by 20 feet! The line will stretch half way to San Felipe

If you look at the "celebrity golf tournament" page, they don't name any celebrities. Really? They haven't booked anyone two months before the event? Please.

Staffing of ticket takers, security, first aid, cleaning of port-o-potties, garbage removal, cost of signage throughout the site. Who is going to be doing all this? Cost of buying the tents and whatever they plan on providing inside the tents (cots? real beds? linens?), are there showers? General staff people for giving directions and information. Food preparation - will permits be issued? Who is working with the Mexican government? The shuttle buses - where are they getting those? Who is going to be driving them? The logistics are absolutely absurd. Are they hiring Mexicans to do all this? If not, how are the Americans getting work visas to be able to work in Mexico? We've already talked about the difficulty in getting all the band equipment across the border.

Another thing I noticed is the woman whose name is on the map is also the same woman who has something to do with the Home Port who has been giving the interviews - Wendy Winzer. Who is she, what's her background? Does she work for Henry Altman?
