Man, I love BloodyDecks. I was going to do a diagram and a post that demonstrates the rig that we use to release inflated groupers (which doesn't seem to work as well with deep water rooster fish :???
but BlooodyDecks saved me the effort.
This is the exact rig we use:
I use an inverted 10/0 live bait hook rigged with 130lb dacron to the weight, and I ground the barb off of the hook, otherwise it is identical to this one.
