Brass water intake

I am ready to install the brass intake scoop on the bottom of the boat but I am not sure of its direction. Logically the scoop side would go to the stern because of the intake pipe location for impact reasons.

But not all things being logical I thought I had better question before installation.

Thanks for help

If you are using an intake similar to the one I posted earlier, they mount with the scoop forward to keep pressure on the pump while underway. Depending on the pump, you can even fill the tank while underway, without turning the pump on.

Be sure to use alot of 5200 on all of your thru hulls. Regular silicone will not cut it.

Sixty is correct, scoop of the clamshell goes forward so that it picks up water underway.
