My wife and I were in Penasco for the Independence Day weekend. It was too windy to get out on Saturday, but the conditions on Sunday morning were superb. The water was flat and everywhere I went there were huge schools of bait on the surface and loads of skipjacks busting through them. It was fun to see. I managed to fill the live well with lots of 8" pacific mackerel in only 20' of water outside of the harbor. I headed to some grouper spots out west and caught a nice 60 pound gulf grouper on the first drop. I also managed to catch a couple baby gulf grouper trolling with Rapalas, and some nice corvina and a baby pinto bass on squid. The babies were promptly released. Attached are some photos.
