Lukeville, Sonoyta crossing improvements?

Most all the border folks belong to an onion, so don't expect any improvements. In fact, brace for a strike as soon as the weather cools.

You are correct Audsley. They are adding another lane in the shithole Sonoyta, Big deal, They already use that shoulder to split the lane going North, If you can't get to the Sentri lane booth, like the Ready Lane , what is the point? The corrupt Sonoyta police won't give up the $ they get to escort.

Need this but I heard the back ground check is hard to pass. Bullshit waiting in any border town to cross back.

That's always been my concern as well. In Nogales downtown they have the Sentri lane walled off by concrete barricades going back probably 400-500 feet. On most days its easy to access the entrance, but on the days when you *really* need it because the line is horrible it is an adventure to try to get to the entrance. The best hope is that the sometimes put a traffic cop at the entrance who will let you cut over from the far left hand lane to the Sentri lane on the far right. I've never had more than a 40-45 min wait in Sonoyta but I've heard the worst days the line can go all the way back to the last gas station. Not sure how they will manage that...

Might get slow.Lots of manpower is being moved to areas with surges of people that turn themselves in and need processing. They cannot be turned away unlike the illegal crossers….this is a good explanation from Cochise County “
On September 13, 2023, Border Patrol Leadership advised the number of asylum-seeking migrants being transferred into their facilities had exceeded capacity and they could no longer schedule the drop-offs at the bus sites at predetermined times. Migrants must be released sporadically throughout the day depending on migrant population within the respective Border Patrol Station.
A total of 72 migrants were released into Douglas and Bisbee on September 13th. While waiting for prearranged transport out of Cochise County, migrants released in Douglas were graciously provided shelter from the elements, by a local church. The Migrants released in Bisbee waited in a parking lot for transportation. On September 14, 116 migrants were released into Bisbee and Douglas; most were transported from the area to humanitarian shelters outside of Cochise County.
On September 15, 121 migrants were released into Douglas and Naco. On September 17, 32 migrants were released into Bisbee. Unfortunately, no shelters were able to house the migrants, so the City of Bisbee was forced to facilitate temporary shelter.
For more information about this temporary shelter or to assist the City of Bisbee, please reach out to the City of Bisbee at (520)432-2261.
Many of these migrants speak languages other than English or Spanish and have no shelter or resources. This makes it more difficult for law enforcement and community partners to provide aid. They are lawfully in the United States, after arriving at the border, and making immediate contact with Customs and Border Patrol Officials. They have adhered to the guidelines outlined by the federal government for seeking asylum.
These asylum-seeking migrants are not the migrants who have illegally entered the United States; they have committed no crimes. The Federal government is releasing these asylum-seeking migrants, many of which are families, accompanied with children across the Southwest Border.
Unfortunately, those being released into Cochise County by the federal government are being released into a rural community with no resources to help them”

The i.legal crossers are then addressed and it is noted that they are sent back with a note on their file that for the next 5 years the legal route via the app is closed

Simultaneously, Arizona leads the nation in both drug and human smuggling. 23.37% of all fentanyl seized in the entire United States in 2022, was seized in either Cochise or Santa Cruz Counties. In 2022, 44.87% of all migrants who illegally entered the United States between ports of entry, were apprehended in the Tucson Sector of the United States Border Patrol.
As Border Patrol Agents are pulled from the Tucson Sector to address the humanitarian crisis of thousands of asylum-seeking migrants who self-admit at ports of entry across the Southwest Border, community leaders expect the number of migrants who illegally enter the country between ports of entry to continue rising.
This means, criminal organizations will continue to recruit people from across the United States (ages 12-72) to smuggle drugs and humans from Cochise County to Phoenix.
It is worth noting those who are apprehended while illegally entering the United States (or being smuggled in a vehicle after not checking in at a port of entry) are not the migrants being released into our communities. Most, if not all of the migrants who enter our country illegally are expelled; For more information about the processing of migrants, reach out to your local Border Patrol Station.”
Governor Hobbs is pouring cash in ,Biden is sending military……we will be fine but the border lines may get long!

Note , 2 months ago a Larry type of christian burned down two Douglas churches that helped migrants in this exact situation. He was mad at “the gays” https://www.presbyterianmission.org/story/arizona-church-persevering-in-the-spirit-of-love-after-devastating-fire/

We drove through Sonoyta last week, and there's another new lane which is asphalted going North into US. I hope they widen the gate going into the US, otherwise, there will be a bottleneck

What's a "Larry type"? Should I take offense?
it’s a complete slander, a complete lie, something Gerald specializes in

a slanderous accusation that got him banned/put in RPTalk jail at least a half- dozen times.

So much so he had to change his identity from “Jerry” to “Old55”.

If Stewart were still with us moderating this site, he would smack his ass down again

Jerry is an old (older than his chronological years) , bitter human being who loves to think he gets in people’s psyche.

he doesn’t, but he entertains himself nonetheless.

Your everyday, run of the mill bully and big pussy

I'm not taking it all that seriously, but it is high time the Larry's of the world stood up and demanded some respect. The Cable Guy hasn't done us any good. When someone mentions a Larry, do people think of sports heroes like Larry Bird or Larry Csonka, or authors like Larry McMurtry (Hud, The Last Picture Show, Lonesome Dove)? No, they think of the Cable Guy. It's time DEI training addressed the marginalization of Larrys and resulting microaggressions. Reparations should be considered

Is this off topic? Oh well, doesn't matter. The adults have left the room.
