Net metering in Mexico

Do any of you who have converted from solar to the city power have any experience with selling your solar power back into the grid?

We added solar last year. We get credit when we generate more power than we use. Those credits get applied on bills when we use more than we generate. We have not sold any power back to the grid, though. Not sure I'm answering your question.

Thank you, if you are getting credits then you are essentially selling your power. I would like to know what the rate the electrical company purchases the power (or the amount of the credit) you receive are vs. the rate the electrical company sells your power to the next customer for.

The "credits" are just the kW-hours themselves. For example, if in the first billing cycle, the solar generated 200 kW-h more than we used, those 200 kW-hours get "banked." Then, say, the next cycle we use 300 kW-h more than we generated. Instead of having a bill for 300 kW-h, they apply the 200 kW-h from our "bank," and only charge us for 100 kW-h. So, basically the rate they pay us is whatever the rate is when we actually use the kW-hours.

Note, even in the months when the solar generation is higher than the usage, we don't get a $0 bill. There is a minimum charge, usually 50 kW-hous per 2-month billing cycle. We've had several bills for $56 pesos. And, no, the minimum charge kW-hours don't get added to the "banked" amounts.

guessing, that at Encanto we have maybe 4-8 solar feed-back systems? Unless there is a large CFE increase, per/kilowatt hour, you have to weigh the cost of solar panels and meter hook-up- batteries. You've got to take into account the rediculus LOW RATES, that we currently have. Caveat, might not apply to yr. around residents.
