Joking about the "International Airport" over on the cruise thread got me thinking about the elusive PHX-RP route that is always talked about, but never happens. It seems like every few years a start up comes around and says they're going to make it happen, and then, like Boomerfest, nothing. Well, here's the latest...

I don't know about anybody else, but I would love to do something like this just once. I really hope it happens one day. Or maybe I'll just work on getting a pilot's license...

Flight leaves Phx too late in the day and leaves RP too early in the day. Only good if you're staying a week.

From their blog : "Thank you so much for your interest. We have been informed by Mar de Cortes Airport authorities that final negotiations are still happening, we will have news about the flight October 31st the latest. We will keep you posted!"

I hear a faint Boom, Boom off in the distance.

I don't think there will be must interest is a flight from Deer Valley to RP. The time spent driving to the airport in DV, waiting for the flight to depart, flying time, clearing customs in RP, and getting a ride to town will be about the same as just driving down. Add the cost of the flight, taxi, and rental car and it doesn't make sense.

October publication Join Us reports OCV says it aint gonna happen in 2014 for commercial flights and they are working on charter flights from Canada.
