if you are towing a boat to Lobos good luck...if you drive back after dark you just might die....if you see the yellow tire repair sign a few miles north of the Riverview reform school ( San Jorge) it's too late.xhances are you have already blown a tire etc....huge pothole ..all the way across the lane and deep...one of many...Scott from Santo Tomas Charters blew a tire and broke two welds on his trailerSunday night.
Drove around them ( by inches) this morning.Holy crap!!!!!

That stretch was pretty bad last May, sad to see it's worse today.
You would think with the Mayan resort being one of the crown jewels of northern Sonora
the Govt or Mayan developer would at least keep the road in good shape.
If I was planning on staying at a top resort like the Mayan and had to deal with a dangerous road
to get there I would look elsewhere.

Lovin it in RP!
Add to that it is not Mayans road. It is Federal. However from Mayan to Peñasco is a nice road very improved. From Mayan to the checkpoint it's iffy and there are some bad spots before the Herradura mine. Be careful drive slower and watch and you should be fine. Anybody who crashes because of potholes is going to damn fast in the first place.
