Jose was one of the very few people that I ever wanted to emulate, as far as how and where he fished. R.I.P. Jose

Man that's crazy! I used to lay around on Sunday mornings as a kid and watch that show. Loved the Peacock bass fly fishing that he used to do!

What an absolute tragedy. Had not heard about this until seeing it on this blog.

Jose epitomized living life to it's fullest and doing what you love. His zest for the sport of fishing and for life in general was a great thing to witness. From everything I have read and from every comment about his loss I have seen, there had been nothing but the warmest comments of what a generous, humble and well loved soul he was. Nice to hear that his on air persona was the same on and off the camera. Very sad to hear this news.
