SHOALS ROAD cover much of Puerto Penasco - THE GULF

By: Hector Aldrete Germán
Puerto Penasco, Sonora

The high number of sandbars that are created on the pavement of the Puerto Penasco road -. El Golfo de Santa Clara has become an imminent danger for those who drive on that road route, raising the risk of accidents
are lack of frequent maintenance and winds from the region the main causes for the dunes on the road and consequently believe that a traveler could cause an accident suffered as rollover or off the road while trying to dodge the sandbar, which even cover up both lanes.
One detail that becomes more dangerous path with dunes is the lack of lighting on the road, so when transiting overnight visibility decreases and becomes less possible to detect this sand covering the road.
They are about 50 kilometers of road that are most affected, and even much of this is fully covered by these shoals, this mid-way.
It is the Local Roads Board, the agency responsible for carrying out maintenance work roads and who have been neglected in recent days this land that connects the city of San Luis Rio Colorado, the town of El Golfo, plus the states of Baja California and California, Nevada and parts of Arizona to Puerto Penasco, remains high the number of tourists who use this road to travel and we must overcome these obstacles that can cause a fatality.
