This is a picture of my mother, Chavela Gehrandt, taken with two of our families friends: Senor Bravo on the left and Dr. Guavara on the right. I think it would have been taken some time in the 1960's at the train station. At that time the trains used to stop here and one went down at midnight to get tacos off the stands as every thing else was closed. They would have their stands set up and people on the train would reach out to buy their tacos, etc. It was smelly and wonderful and I've never eaten tacos that tasted anywhere close as to being as wonderful as those midnight snacks. Of course memories improve taste.
Does anyone recognize Senor Bravo and/or Dr. Guavara? I always used their proper names and never their first names as they were my seniors.
