I was on that ignorant side last night tho. When we crossed, the guard on the Mexico side wanted " USDA Sanitorio" papers on our dogs. ??? We have never been asked for any paperwork on our dogs before on either side, but we always carry their vaccination records so we can be covered. He wanted us to turn around and not enter. He did not want photos, as others have mentioned. If they are trying to cut down on the stray dog population, I can appreciate that. A couple visits ago we actually meet someone who said their friend came down and his dog ran off and he couldn't find it so he just went home. JERK. Who's heart doesn't go out to the strays down here? I wish I could take them all home. Better yet, send one home with each person who asks if they actually need a passport to come down.

Back on point, I hadn't heard about any USDA Sanitario requirement for pet papers. I carry vaccination records, but we've never even been asked to produce them. If anyone has any other information on what is needed for pets, I'd appreciate being forewarned and forearmed.
