I buy at the little fish market at Mary's coctaleria. Notice that they only have small ice chests. That's because they make regular runs to the freezer storage and keep only what they need on ice. When they get low on shrimp, Pancho drives to the freezer and brings more. Many of the fish markets have gigantic coolers filled with melting ice and warming shrimp. I have always wondered how they know how long the shrimp have been lying in there. The restaurant uses the shrimp out of their fish market so I think the shrimp are always fresher.

Don't know current prices, but know they are somewhat elastic. If you beat them up over the price they will used the 'modified' scale.
