Will be visiting Playa Encanto for the 1st time the week of the 4th. How far is the closest store were you can pick up ice & beer?

There is no shopping out that way, except the Ostione. You will be out of town by 30 to 45 minutes so best pick up your needs on the way out as you pass through Penasco. As you come into town you can stop at the Santa Fe Market and or the Bodega Aurera stores on the street you will come into town on, Benito Juarez. There is a shortcut you could take before you enter Penasco, the Caborca, Mayan Palace cutoff but then you would have to come back into town to shop so best not to take the shortcut.
