I read an article a couple years ago, about the 200 species of birds that visit or live there it mentioned if the town El Golfo would clean itself up there would be thousands of bird watcher's coming to the area.. They used to have guides there, but I'm not sure if they are still working or not..

Sad, El Golfo at one time was wonderful. Not so much now.
The cops there are still the worst in Sonora.

The black shit eater moscas there are still the worst in Sonora.

The bolsas of week old almejas are still the worst in Sonora.

There are no "camarones fresca" available there since they closed off the upper gulf to commercial fishing.

We haven't stopped there since the Coastal Hwy was completed.

Thanks to Hey-Sus the new highway bypasses the dump.

The filthy dump used to be known as Yuma's Beach with less than an hour drive from the San Luis crossing.

Just saying............
