From a different point of view...I live in the Phoenix area and enjoy the cooler months here, Oct - May. I travel to RP during the same months, when you can enjoy the outdoors. The summer months in both Phoenix and RP are way too hot for me. I do not enjoy sitting in the air conditioned house. The summer months are very enjoyable when spent in the cool pines of the higher elevations. So, if I were looking for the best situation, I would live/teach in the desert as close to RP as possible during the school year when the weather is awesome, traveling to RP weekends & holidays, and live in the cool mountains during the hot summer months after school is out when it is too hot to enjoy RP anyway.

Ajo... i like those Artisan places for rent in the old school go to Flag or Kings canyon for the cool on long weekends
