Rosie you know i posted the Loba statement before you chimed in. I never came charging after you, In "FACT" I think I helped you, but you jumped in thinking i had
insulted you and your business. I never said not to buy liability insurance from you also Happy told me Russ went overboard to insult me on your radio show. Ask
Kenny how long our misunderstanding went.

I don't think you helped me, but I also don't think you hurt me...even with all your links to other agents. I didn't say you insulted me or my business. What I did say is that you do people a disservice if you give them the impression that their coverage from their U.S. carriers is enough. Every week I deal with the reality of people who thought just that and then find out the hard way that Mexico requires separate liability coverage.

I don't know what the hell Kenny has to do with anything, unless you're issuing a veiled threat. I could not care less, especially if you're getting your information from that sicko who has been banned for life.

Russ referred on the show to something that was posted on this forum, but it wasn't even posted by you. If you want to let that crazy guy you're hanging out with yank your chain, that's your problem.

When was Kenny banned for life?

I just renewed my local policy with Yolanda Silva Guzman for the next year. The annual drivers license policy was $99.00. It is nice to have a local agent...

Thanks Chuck i had forgotten about her. Does she still work out of her house off fremont. I rather buy from her than these new carpetbaggers trying to run all kinds
of products and running scare tactics.

As the owner of an insurance brokerage company in Arizona, I can tell you that some carrier will provide collision coverage within a certain zone south of the border (ex. 100 miles, 50 miles). some will provide comp coverage, some will provide a combination of both. I deal with tens of carriers daily and they each have their own limits regarding any vehicle coverage provided in mexico. however as has been stated before, you will certainly need mexican liability coverage. If you are looking to cut costs, find out if your carrier will provide any comp/collision coverage in mexico and what limits they have. if they provide both or one or the other (assuming you have comp/collision coverage on your us policy), then you could just purchase a liability only policy.

I certainly believe in "buying local" in order to help support those living in the community that we enjoy. However, I also believe is shopping around for the best price. I buy insurance on my driver's license that covers me for any vehicle that I drive in Mexico. This costs me $82.99/yr, for Mexican liability insurance, and includes "legal aid assistance", which is "keeping out of jail insurance". The company is ADA VIS, out of Temecula, CA, www.mexicoinsurance.com. You can pay with a credit card on line, and immediately print out your policy.

I agree with Rosie that Yolanda Silva is a very nice, professional lady. I have used her for property insurance for quite a few years. She is very low-profile in her advertising. I don't know what Rosie means when she states that Yolanda cannot provide the same service that Rosie provides. Since I haven't had to file a claim with Yolanda, I can't comment about her service in this regard.

I switched my insurance to Yolanda after purchasing insurance for several years from another major insurance provider in Penasco. This person sold me vehicle insurance that wasn't legal in the US. I was very fortunate to not have a mishap while driving in the US on a bogus liability policy. Also, I had a burglary claim that he settled with a check written from his personal account, rather than paid by the underwriter. In addition, he tried to double-bill me by sending me a six-month premium notice for an annual policy. Etc., etc.

Might this person's name be the same as a country that is located next to Spain??? :stir:

I buy full coverage, since I have a newer vehicle....and have found that the only difference in the premiums (regardless on which agent you buy from) is which Mexican company the policy is written on...and how much coverage you get..... I've compared prices on several "online" places that give you quotes.

Our Driver's License policies are running in the neighborhood of $120 per year with big discounts for additional drivers (for example: 2 drivers will run just over $141). It's the best I can do. If price is your determining factor, then you're on the right track with the California people.

I have no reason to believe that Yolanda wouldn't do a great job if you ever had a claim. The difference in service, as my clients know, is that I am personally available 24-hrs per day. If my clients get into an accident, I'll go out and help them in any way I can...no charge. Nobody else does that, and my clients seem to appreciate it.

A bargain is only a bargain until you have a problem. Just last weekend I got a call before 6am (I think, 'cause I was still half-asleep) from someone on this forum who had a problem unrelated to her policy. I think I was helpful. I'll let her give details if and when she chooses to.

While I'd like to have more business, I know we can't have them all. That isn't the point. The point is making sure people understand the need for coverage that is real (unlike what you used to buy from that other guy).

As with most things "beware the cost of the lowest price." Peace of mind has value for me and having Rosie's Insurance company # in my phone provides just that.

Additional driver discounts is a good selling point for driver's license liability policies. I renewed the policies for me and my wife last July, and paid $82.99 for each of us on individual policies. I did not get an additional driver discount, nor was I offered that option. I have been dealing with this same company for a number of years. It's a little late now, but when I renew, I'll ask about multiple driver discounts.
