    Any condo owners here?

What Las Palomas probably realized is that they're going to incur on site costs (security, common area maintenance, etc) from all renters. Now when somebody uses another agency, or pockets all expenses, how does that get paid for? Also, Dry Heat mentioned that Las Palomas is the highest ranked...

    Any condo owners here?

That's the thing... I've rented "under the table" before when a friend booked a unit for us and it can be a mess. It's Mexico we're talking about here, inevitably something always goes wrong with a rental and it's better to just be able to call the front desk and have them come fix it. Also you...

    What's up at the border?

I agree with your overall sentiment, but it's not the State Department's responsibility to warn you of danger in South Tucson (or anywhere else in the US). They are however responsible for providing as much information as possible to Americans traveling abroad. In this case, they were definitely...

    Banditos got shut down??

Of course local officials would shut down the bar who's owner does everything he can to promote Rocky Point through his music, concerts, charity, etc... Makes perfect sense!

    Banditos got shut down??

A bar in Mexico serving underage kids? I'm shocked! Maybe Roger didn't pay a "tax" that was due to local officials?

    mosquitos and zica virus

I'm hoping this is limited to Southern parts of Mexico. If it makes up this far, then I'm sure that means it's in the US too.

El Homeport(the fish rots from the head)Penasco Digital report

It's like doubling down on 16 at a blackjack table. Take the remaining funds and complete the improvements Stuart described. As many of us have been saying for years, no cruise ships will ever come to this thing. Stop the madness while it can still be salvaged! They could even save face by...

    Verizon in Mexico!

It's geared towards tourists like myself, not residents. They only charge you the $2 while you're connected to international towers. Once you're back in the states, it automatically stops.

    Verizon in Mexico!

And on the Verizon end, used the $2/day thing over New Years weekend. Data wasn't great, perhaps due to all the tourists, should knows. Still nice to just keep my phone on and not worry about any crazy charges when I get back. We did turn on the feature before heading down, but another person...

El Homeport(the fish rots from the head)Penasco Digital report

Don't want to wade into this personal argument, but... The Home port halting, vaquita sightings and water running down the Colorado to the Gulf have all very welcome news in 2015. Hope there's more coming in 2016.

Fish Story for December 19, 2015

I've never fished in the ocean before. Out of curiosity, what do you do with those huge fish? Do you have somebody in town cut it up and pack it to bring back? That's a lot of fish tacos...

Can't help you as far as quick renewal... But if it's just to go to RP, I wouldn't stress it too much, they'll still let you back in.

    New Years Eve Parties?

RP 360 said several places would be hosting parties, but didn't have many specifics. Anyone hear anything?

    Verizon in Mexico!

Good news Terry... Seems like the cell carriers are finally giving up the scam they've been hitting us with for all these years. Another year or so and I'm sure everyone will be free. I don't care for their service, but we've got T-Mobile to thank for starting the trend, the rest are following.

    BORDER ALT ROUTE IN SINOITA

Unless there's some sort of emergency, why not wait in line like the rest of us? If the Sonoyta cops really want to make money, I'd encourage them to start pulling people over that are doing what you've described.
