    Wind Turbines

I’m not sure how the discussion went from wind turbines to power lines, but that type of thing happens a lot on the site. Anyway... there have been no studies. (no meaning zero, nada, none) that show any type of risk due to the emissions from wind turbines. There is a very very small risk from...

    Wind Turbines

We used to have one on our farm. The best hint I can give is to oversize the wiring and minimize the distance from the turbine to the battery. Systems can have A LOT of resistance loss. Having a good handle on your usage will make sizing the system pretty strait forward.

    WiFi assistance needed

We had VIASAT for 2 years in Playa Encanto but we switched due to cost and bandwidth limitations. Ours always worked reasonably well. I would call whoever it was you got the service through and asked them to have someone come out. It’s possible the antenna is misaligned. Another thing you can do...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

The first tower has 20+ stories of steel in place. I’ll post a pic if I think of it tomorrow.

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

There are lots of stories about Gus Brown in our extended family, I have no idea how much truth there is.. I found this article that seems to spell it all out... http://rptimes.com/beverly-arrowood/2016/09/cholla-bay-in-rocky-point-mexico/

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Just as an FYI...36% of the US adults (18 and older) are at increased risk of infection due to "underlying conditions". This is a fact confirmed by data collected by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

I was shocked to read that dogs can detect Covid with near 100% accuracy!

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

For those of you who have said Covid only hurts old people... we got a call last night that my niece’s 2 year old is hospitalized with Covid. She has had nothing but a perfect medical history.

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

It's interesting...we are stuck in Arizona until next week. I have noticed that many of the CVS stores have Covid testing and claim results within 72 hours. I counted over 50 on their web site that have testing avaiable. The longest line I have seen at any of them has been 3 cars. I have no idea...

    Worth a read

It's interesting to me you continually use "fake news" when you disagree with something, especially when your comments are based on your opinion as though your opinion is fact. It's like someone saying "my bad" rather than apologizing. Just trite phrases without real meaning.

    Entry into Sonoyta

Quick PS. We have never been asked for car insurance and we have been coming down since 1979. We were not asked on this trip either. We have an annual policy.

    Entry into Sonoyta

We came in on Friday. We own a home here but we do not have permanent resident cards yet. At the border they were stopping every car for a quick check. They did not ask for a passport or CFE bill etc. For the first time in a long time they asked to see the rabies cert for our dog. The whole...

    El Barco oyster farm video

Our home in Playa Encanto sits where we can look out the front at the ocean and out the rear at the estuary. Although we can’t see this particular oyster farm we can see others. Interesting as can be to watch them work. No one there is making a lot of money but when we talk with them all seem...

Who was here in the beginning?

I first joined the site in about 2008 or so. I joined under a different “handle” then. This site was about the only place to find out what was going on in Penasco. I still read it daily and mostly just bite my tongue at a lot of the crap that is posted because I still get nuggets of info from...
