Tacos el Pablano - best al pastor anywhere

When I first started coming down to RP, we found this little taco shop just north of the baseball stadium that makes the best al pastor I've ever had. We found the place by driving down Benito Juarez and just being mesmerized by the flames coming off the gyro-style spit they use to cook the al...

    Latitude Survey

OK. So I went home without first writing about my visit to the butcher shop. The place is no longer Cedasa, it's called Carneceria Sonorese. Its on Ocampo near Sinoloa. When I went there, they had the usual low grade cuts but they also had a beautiful T-bone primal for about $6.50/lb...

    Latitude Survey

Actually, that's a really good question. Always used to go to Cedasa, but found out the last time I was here in May that Cedasa no longer operates that store. It's still a butcher shop, still sells Cedasa product, and will still cut whatever you want to order but the variety isn't what they...

Tessoro at Las Conchas (COMPLAINTS FYI)

Wow. It seems the only condo worth considering is on the resale market where they've all been sold and the developer is no longer backing the hoa. And I'm not really sure how offended to be that the writer felt the need to point out the developer is jewish. I don't remember them mentioning...

    new prepay cell

What does Telcel charge for airtime? Bought an AT&T prepaid phone for $10 at Best Buy and calls to/from the US are 25 cents/min. Only used about 6 bucks worth last week as I usually use my Skype where wifi is available.

Things I learned this trip down.

Every time I go down to PP, I learn a couple fo new things about the best way to get things done. This trip was no different. Hopefully someone will find a few of the tips useful. 1. There's a frickin' Walmart in town!! Not that I'm a huge Walmart fan, but having the Bodega Aurrera nearby...

    Crossing THursday 10/13

I crossed back into AZ at 1:15pm today. A 3 car wait going north; about a dozen cars headed south. Many were RVs or towing so the time per vehicle may have been higher than usual.

    Fishing Charters?

I'm headed down the week of Oct 8 and I wouldn't mind a day of fishing or snorkeling around Bird Island, but there aren't enough of us to justify chartering a boat just for us. Does anybody know a decent charter outfit where we might be able to tag along with another group? Is the fishing...

    Shrimp & Red Snapper

Rob et al, Another easy way to check weight is with a bottle of water. As in "a pint, a pound .. the world around", or rather "a liter, a kilo". Whenever the guys in the malecon see the bottle of water come out, so does "the real scale". That said, I never buy shrimp at the port anymore...
