I believe it is a private airport built and owned by the Mayan folks. There have been several charter flights in from Hermosillo bringing vacationers but none recently. and of course several unsuccessful attempts of regular commercial flights from the US.

There was another development planned, further out on the end by Tessoro. You can see the sales office they built to the left of Tessoro in the photo. There are even a couple of palm trees there. Don't recall the name or any details.

The actual area of development is some distance to the right in the photo, well back from the beach.

Here's a photo of the area of the discussed residential development, Las Perlas. That is Tessoro in the background, the tip of the peninsula that is Las Conchas. It has been a beach playground for ATVs as you can see from al the tracks.

Flies in East LC were extremely bad 3 weeks ago. Could not open your mouth outside. Extremely aggressive as well. Some of the big fat black ones and the smaller model. I suspect that they lay eggs which are stimulated to hatch after a soaking rain. Still here and aggressive and annoying but...
