    Trip Report

Thanks GV Jack for the great trip report, and I'm glad you have a fantastic time (minus the short tour of the police hq). You might want to post your report on Trip Advisor- a lot of newbies visiting Penasco don't have the slightest idea we're here on this forum, and use trip advisor instead...

    Charity Concert

Thanks AZ Rob for coordinating this and to everyone else who is a sponsor! What a great group of people working for a great cause. And thanks for the link- I had heard of Mark M, but never heard his music and I'm now a fan.

    Labor Day Roll Call.....

Me too!! I think it's interesting if the wind is from the south (water temp), the temp doesn't go down at night, but if it's from the north, it cools down some. I also like comparing this year's temps w/ prior years. That site is usually the first thing I look at in the a.m. Also, just fyi...

    Labor Day Roll Call.....

GringaZona, I think we're also hoping it cools down the following weekend and going then. A friend just returned and said it was hot and humid, and after looking at Casa Weez's site, it doesn't look like it's cooling down at night, and the heat index column scares me...

    Labor Day Roll Call.....

OK Roberto, how bad is it down there? We're looking at the weather reports which have changed from last week, and thinking of going down just 1 or 2 nights.

Best Seafood Resterant in Rocky Point

Blue Marlin- Homero is from Penasco, trained in Oceanography somewhere in Baja, and at school learned how to smoke meat and make this incredible sauce to go on your amazing Garlic Flounder. Also recommend Shrimp Quesadilla, and there is a two person meal that has a ton of great sea food.

Here's a great story about Roberto- I used to love reading the old stories in "El Futuro". http://www.penasco.com/1101hotel.html

Salt to Fresh water 1964 video awesome!

His father was mayor, and they've lived in Penasco since 1964 (they're our neighbors). They would have some GREAT old pictures.

I would hate to be near the pumping station for the de-sal plant, which aims to provide water to Arizona, Nevada and California: Here is the U of A presentation: http://udallcenter.arizona.edu/sarp/pdf/Puerto_Penasco_FINAL%20June2011.pdf

The dangers of Sonoran Hot Dogs

I like BK's carne asada better- less gristle and more mesquite flavor, but still not as good as Mexcian carne asada.

Salt to Fresh water 1964 video awesome!

Russ, I think Gilbert Castillo's father in law was involved in this project- it the land west of Las Conchas, and I think that's now going to be the public beach (?).

    EDL passport

Do you have a metal folder you put your EDL in? For the passport card, they give you the metal encased holder (paper outside). Supposedly you can't read the RFID when it's in the holder.

Why Is Water Blue ER At The East Beaches! Reprint

Kitchen water goes down the same pipes as the "brown floaties". Unless they build a gray water system when they are building the condos (which I'm sure they didn't), it's all mixed together. Now pool water is different.

    EDL passport

I don't know why it's blocked (possibly it would require $ to implement and there is the other option), but the passport card is recognized in Mexico and perhaps a "Enhanced" driver's license might not be recognized in other countries? Just a guess. But like the EDL, it's only good for...
