My wife reentered Puerto Peñasco yesterday around dinner time with no difficulties. They had answer a few questions, studied her residence card and CFE bill, and walk the dogs through the tunnel of placebo.
This was on Rocky Point 360 Facebook Puerto Peñasco dining out tips...
1. We need to follow the guidelines set up. Wearing a mask to enter the restaurant and using the sanitizer station before entering. Some places may require you to keep your mask close by or even on your chin for now.
2. There will be limits on the number of people who can sit together. Don't expect to sit with 15 of your closest friends.
3. There are some places where children can not come to (12 and under). Check before you go.
4. There may be an enter only door and an exit only door. Follow those guidelines
5. Have patience. Your servers are following guidelines for your safety and ours. It’s not their rules. They are just doing their job. It may take longer to get you a fork, or ketchup, or a straw. There is a process.
6. If they ask you to wait outside, or return to your seat..it is because they cant have people “ visiting or gathering” other groups.
7. Make reservations when possible. It will help you and the restaurant be able to operate more smoothly.
8.Most importantly TIP! TIP! TIP! And tip generously if possible. Believe me, they need it and are grateful. Let them know verbally it is good to have them back.
We have missed you all, but please understand life is different here than in the states. Our guidelines are different. We are guests here, and have worked hard for the past three months to get through this. Please respect the rules. Not doing so will only set us back and hurt businesses and people.
“BTW, they need to correct #5. From my recollection, they don’t allow straws in Rocky Point anymore.”
I was offered and declined a straw with my ice water at breakfast yesterday.
Last week I had a total of six meals out in three different restaurants. At one meal I saw a Mexican family with two children, probably under 12. At one meal there was my group, mixed nationalities over 50, and another group, gringo heavy and over 40. At the other four meals, I (alone or with a single partner) had the place to myself.
The fundamental observation here is hardly anyone is eating out in town right now. Occupancy in the condo buildings is low and the hotels are presumably empty. There is a multinational group of diehards that has stayed in town through this whole thing, and most of them have adapted to cooking at home.
And speaking of things supposed to be happening, any building going on there? Encantame Towers, LP Phase 3?
Some of the projects in town are being built by work crews out of Hermosillo. I suppose it will be phase 3 before they are let in. Some smaller projects never stopped.

True story. In 2008 my family and I were staying at Las Palomas for 4 days. Every morning my mother would get up early, have breakfast and then go down to the pool to reserve or occupy seats at the pool for us for the rest of the day. She befriended a lady that was from Washington state. The lady and her husband had already "purchased" a unit in phase 3. I had told my mom the back story about why phase 3 construction had slowed to almost a halt previous to our trip. The lady told my mom that Las Palomas had told them that the construction would resume and that their condo would be done by December of 10. 12 years later and still nothing. You have to feel for some of these people that have 100k tied up in an uncompleted tower in RP... What do you do?! There's pry no legal recourse so you just wait and maybe one day it will be completed????!!! So rough!
Beaches and pools will not open on the 16 of this month ordered by the Mex government, will you still come down?
I'll be down the 18th, there's a little secret beach near my place in Cholla, I'm planning on visiting.
Also taking care of my CFE bill and readying my house for us being away for most of the summer.

We need definition of "beaches"... I could easily see the boat ramp area in Cholla Bay still being closed. That would do no good for kayaking and fishing... I think we're waiting for some "test rats" to go first for a couple of weeks and then make it down mid July... OJALA PUES

They are still meeting today to finalize this. So this is not the final draft, but gives you an idea as to what to expect.
June 9 - A morning conversation starter to go with coffee ('cause it's too early for tequila, right?)...How about a relaxed stay at home, with a view and an opportunity to really show support for the local economy ? According to local officials (City Secretary and Municipal Health Coordinator) yesterday, Puerto Peñasco does plan to gradually open the gate for visitors on June 16th - though a bit more cautious and even more gradual than many of us had envisioned. NOTE: Yet to be finalized and approved proposals include:
* Entry to town only with a confirmed reservation - have original reservation and ID with you (to control # of people entering) until further notice. Hotels to be open at 40% capacity, Resorts at 70%
* All hotels, resorts, rental agencies MUST have signed letter of commitment with the City and have completed health protocol certification
* Health filter protocols to remain in place at northern entrance to town - possibly to include sanitizing tunnel after all
* Restaurants open at 40% capacity - please support them
* Golf courses open - with certain health protocol in place - yes, support them as well
* 10 pm curfew to remain in effect.
* Visitors under same City guidelines that residents have been following: use of masks in public settings, outings only for essentials - including meals at restaurants
* Beaches and pools presently remain closed * updates to be posted as soon as available
* Marina presently remains closed to excursions, sports fishing * Updates to be posted as soon as available
The Municipal Health & Safety Board is meeting today to discuss and approve (and possibly modify.?..) these recent proposals.

So this is the latest on the June 16th opening as of 11:30AM Tuesday 6/9.
They are letting people in with reservations for hotel's and condos.
What about homeowners who have places in LC, Cholla, Costa Diamante, etc? Will we be allowed in?
I know last week was for homeowners who had Perm Res Cards, what about the many who don't have a Perm Res Card.
I can prove I own a house with CFE, Bank Trust and Tax bill.
Opinions, Thx

Nothing is certain. My wife had to go back to California for a week and returned during the period residents were allowed back in. She had a residence card and CFE bill. It was perfunctory. Nothing to sign, no decal on car. Painless. The next day, so we heard, some people were being turned away, and everyone let through was getting the third degree.
i would bring every proof you have, be polite and generally bring your A-game. I’m glad we went through the expense and hassle to get residence cards. They seem to diffuse some of the drama crossing the border and at assorted checkpoints. I believe the US CBP agents know we‘re Mexican residents. Before we got our cards we always got questioned as to why were in Mexico. Once we got residency those questions stopped immediately.
Things are going back to normal, but it’s a new normal, and I bet the value of having legal residency is only going up.
This is showing under the government of puerto penasco facebook 6/9/20 @ 6 pm
Commercial establishments are reopening their doors, little by little and respecting the healthy distance, we are getting back to normal. Our goal is getting closer and everything looks like we can reopen our beaches next June 16th.
I would like some clarification if possible. I have been reading on various facebook sites that starting on the 16th tourist with reservations can come down. What I have also seen is that owners of homes that do not rent can not come down even if they have permanent residency. They missed the window of opportunity. Can anyone help me understand what exactly is going on here.
I would think if the beaches open on the 16th, tourists and owners should also be able to come to RP. The beaches aren't opening for the locals. They are opening for the tourist dollars.

We sold our house in the Phx area to move full time to our home in Penasco literally just as the closures happened. Our stuff is now in storage and we are waiting patiently (OK not so patiently), living in an AirBnB. With some of the restrictions being lifted we planned to come down to our house next week. I have read here and on some Facebook groups that the ONLY people being let in next week are those with hotel reservations but homeowners still cannot return. I have looked for the source of this "information" but cannot find one, just the normal "poor little me, I get treated so unfairly" crap. Does anyone have a source that shows whether or not those of us who have homes in Penasco can return next week?
Not to be rude, but I am really not looking for opinions, just a real source if this is true. Thanks!
June 10 - Municipal Safety & Health Advisory Board approved Phase III for June 16th to include:
* Entry with confirmed reservation and official ID (have printed documents with you)
* Available capacity hotels 40%, resorts 70%, home rentals 100%
* Pools to be opened at hotels and resorts
* Federal Zone on beach (in front of hotels and resorts) to be open - entry to water not permitted
* Health filter north of town to remain in effect including use of thermal cameras and sanitizing tunnel, as well as sanitizing of vehicle
For questions and clarification, please contact Gobierno de Puerto Peñasco Kiko Munro

Rocky point 360 has been updated here is the link. It says no entry to individual homes.
He detailed, on June 16th, entry will be allowed to visitors solely who can accredit they have a reservation at locations detailed above, emphasizing access will be restricted for those without a reservation or wishing to stay at individual homes or with families, as there is no control of health measures or healthy distancing in homes.
"Federal Zone on beach (in front of hotels and resorts) to be open - entry to water not permitted * Federal Zone on beach (in front of hotels and resorts) to be open - entry to water not permitted".
GTFOH!!!! This is going to be such a nightmare!
So basically the beach is open but you can't get into the ocean to swim????? No sport fishing????
And the town closes at 10pm???????
Come on, who in their right mind would want to go down on the 16th with this bullshit? Everyday it becomes more clear that I may not see RP again until the end of the year if at all. July was wishful but not if you can't do anything and I have to go through this entire hassle... Shit is so stupid. Cases are skyrocketing in AZ and Mexico.... Either reopen or don't. This wishy washy details changing daily is frustrating and doesn't provide reassurance to people who have investment and or visitors looking to spend money.
On a side note. I've been window shopping Air BnB and other sites for places in San Diego. It is official. Rocky Point is now more expensive of a destination than San Diego. What a fucking joke.
Strike 1. Las Conchas HOA guard casita Kiko Monroe fiasco.
Strike 2. 2 week raw sewage broken pipe
Strike 3. Not being able to visit our own home
Strike 4. Allowing rentals into low populated areas when homeowners at this time are not allowed. Increase for break ins
Thinking very hard about travelling 2800 miles to relax in our own home this winter especially when the carpet can get pulled from beneath you at anytime.
This includes 70% capacity at resorts and condos, 40% capacity for hotels, and 100% available capacity for rental homes.

“It will be mandatory to show an official ID, present a reservation document for hotel, condominium, rental home, or something similar.
Seem there is some confusion. This is an obvious oversight. You can rent a house but not stay in your own home?? I suppose you could rent yourself your own home? You just have to have the paperwork to show at the crossing. It may be a confusion from the translation as the original is in Spanish..

I have to agree Joe, Penasco's message about opening has been cloudy all along.
The rules seem to change at the check point from day to day or shift to shift.
Penasco has never been a real bargain to visit like many places further south.
Restaurants are close to Phx prices but not San Diego expensive. A beer further south is $1.50-2.00 vs the $3-3.50 in Penasco.
Rentals are anywhere from cheap to expensive depending on location and if the owner is actually
collecting and paying the taxes and fees that are supposed to go to Penasco, Anytime you see a PM me for a deal
it's usually an off the books rental.
Penasco has it's issues, but for me to be at the ocean 4 hours from my Phx house and 150 ft from my Cholla place is perfect.
Tell you what there Cheeze. I will rent you your home.
Who pays the 30 to 35 percent to the town of Puerto Penasco for registering in the rental pool? Keep in mind I think I still have a home. Tomorrow maybe not.
In order to be on the approved Rental list then these items would have to be completed.
All hotels, resorts, rental agencies MUST have signed letter of commitment with the City and have completed health protocol certification.
IMPORTANT!! For ANY business (restaurant, upcoming openings, etc.) you MUST follow the steps outlined by City including 1. Letter of Commitment (available at Economic Development Office at City Hall 8 am - 3 pm) 2. Participate in course provided by Protección Civil on health guidelines (receive certificate) 3. Have establishment sanitized - this is free (if done by City / Protección Civil) or once you reach this step, you can contract a local business (who also could REALLY use the business) and then have Protección Civil verify. THESE ARE NECESSARY STEPS FOR ANY BUSINESS/RESTAURANT PLANNING TO REOPEN.

I'm also not waiting in the street for hours only to be sprayed by who knows what in that bouncehouse they have set up . I've waited this long ,I'll wait a little longer.
Reveal 4 new cases of Coronavirus Covid-19 in Puerto Peñasco; increased 50% in three days
The Ministry of Health in the state reported that this Wednesday four new cases of Coronavirus Covid-19 were confirmed in Puerto Peñasco, including a health worker, which accounted for 12 infected people.
In this way, this municipality had a 50% increase in infections in just three days, since the most recent case, the eighth, was confirmed on June 7.
Enrique Clausen Iberri, Health Secretary, reported that in neighboring Sonoyta, a new case and one death were recorded, for a total of 19 patients and 2 deaths.
The details of those infected 9,10,11 and 12 in Puerto Peñasco regarding sex, age and other factors related to Covid-19 were not disclosed, but it was established that one of them works in the health sector
He added that Sonora exceeded 4,000 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), registering 217 new infections and 22 deaths from the disease, the highest number recorded in a single day.
It listed that 55 of the 217 cases occurred in health workers, one from Puerto Peñasco; 16 from Hermosillo; 15 of Cajeme; six from Caborca; five from Guaymas; five from Nogales; four from San Luis Río Colorado; two of trenches; and one from Magdalena de Kino.
Enrique Clausen Iberri stressed that, in the face of this pandemic, everyone's support is needed, and the importance of staying home to avoid more infections and more deaths, so he invited citizens to not give up and continue the fight against Covid- 19.
He confirmed that the only way to contain the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the state is through joint work, with the involvement of the entire society, and only in this way will it be possible to mitigate this pandemic that is growing in Sonora.
Clausen Iberri, in his message to the Sonorans, commented that the Covid-19 has generated uncertainty, fear and loss of precious lives, but Sonora can get out of this battle with simple actions that citizens can do.
“Keep your distance, wash your hands, use the face mask, antibacterial gel, stay home if you have the opportunity to do it; If you are a vulnerable group: as an older adult, diabetic, pregnant woman, hypertensive, obese or any chronic disease, stay home, if your boss makes you go to work, report it, decide to take care of yourself and take care of yours, "he reiterated.
Meanwhile, the portal of the Federal Health Secretariat continues to present in its statistics 8 confirmed cases in Puerto Peñasco, of which seven would be recovered; it also confirms the first death; in total there would be 6 male and two female patients; all with a history of chronic degenerative diseases. To date, there are 27 tests with negative results for Covid-19 and there is a record of 14 suspects.
Thanks, RP, for your updates. Whether the government reacts appropriately or not (disinfectant tunnels . . . . lock downs . . . ) according to varying opinions, the bottom line is that the playground is closed for awhile . . . .

Again, risk mitigation turned into OUTRIGHT CONTAINMENT and PREVENTION of even one case. It is simply not realistic that they will continue to "keep out" the virus.
Furthermore, has anyone looked at AIR BnB lately? There's a hundred or more "private stays", does the app assure you have proper documentation? I doubt any of those listings are going to be removed because the house hasn't gone through the proper protocols...
This is so wishy washy. Obviously we knew this was going to happen. It's Mexico. Organization isn't their strong point.
The new statement doesn't address if the ocean is "open". How can you contract covid swimming in the ocean by yourself? Serious inquiry, trying to understand. So no boats, kayaks??? Not sure I could be any more "isolated" than on a ONE MAN KAYAK on the SOUTH SIDE of CHOLLA BAY!!!!
I was all for sensible measures until I saw AZ re-open and the bars in Scottsdale just conveniently "forgot" about all the measures that are supposed to be in place and people are one foot away from each other "grinding" on each other.
This is like a 400 lb person fasting for a month only to return immediately ASAP to eating icecream 12 times daily and every other thing in between.
Russ, have you ever been critical of one thing in your entire life? We can argue semantics about who's love for RP is deeper but man, just because I love something does NOT mean I will not voice opinion when and where deemed necessary. If my wife asks me if she's fat and I look at her I do an OBJECTIVE analysis and provide answer accordingly. Getting into a future "fight" because of said answer doesn't factor into the equation. I'm a no bulllshit kind of guy. Is the glass half full or half empty??? I'd look at it and say it's 56% full. I would think someone that makes money from tourism would be a little more critical to said process knowing that people need information to make a decision on travel. If details change daily and or there is some ridiculous process you're free to be dissatisfied. You can do both. Love Penasco and also be critical when applicable.

As of today 29852 confirmed cases 1095 deaths that's 0.0366 chance death rate, 7million folks in Az. You have a 0.00426 chance of getting the virus . Out of 7 million in Az. you have a 0.000156 chance of death
Rocky Point is reacting as if the Chinese virus cannot ever enter the city. It is coming sooner or later. These senseless and draconian measures are just delaying herd immunity. That delay will actually kill more people including the increased hunger and poverty brought upon the local Mexicans trying to live in PP.

Pretty slim chances right. You are probably right, But:
The bad thing about getting CV-19 is that the chance of you dying is 5-10 times higher vs the ordinary flu.
If you're over 50-60, maybe with diabetes, heart issues, a smoker or African American your chances only increase.
If you're an ICU candidate and put on a ventilator there's a 40-60% chance you will die or your heart will suffer damage
from it. (happening to close to 50% of ventilator survivors).
Below is a tally of reported CV-19 cases in AZ and Mexico, it's going to be awhile before this goes away, if a 2nd wave happens, hang on.
Curious thing is the active cases of people who still have CV-19 hasn't started going down at all in the 5 weeks of charting this. Why?
So it boils down to Getting CV-19 is bad and Shutting everything down is bad, they're both not good for us, So Pick your poison.

It means nothing to argue about processes or rules that you have no control over, it is a waste of brain power. I would like to live to be a little older so I really don't see the need to get all riled up over this crap. We make our living on tourism we have not gained any dollars or pesos since the 16 of March. I don't qualify for unemployment so this definitely has a huge impact on us. So what can I change about any of it? Nada! It bothers me but at the end of the day I am OK with it until a real answer is given by authority. Everyone involved here and in the country of Mexico and for that matter the entire world is dealing with something that is new and scary. I would not want to be in the management of this little town of 65000 people regarding this emergency so I am satisfied to follow the rules as they play out without perspiring too much about it. I don't want to go through the sanitizing tunnel so I stay home, it's super easy. So that is why I stay "stay home" our little town will be back soon enough with all the fun stuff everyone likes to do. We all we will be a little bit older maybe a little bit wiser and if we show patience now we will be happier as well.
Your own numbers imply that only 0.5 % of the population has been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 disease. At this rate we are about 10 years from developing herd (not heard immunity). This points out the risks in taking epidemiological advise from the marginally literate and innumerate.
As of today 29852 confirmed cases 1095 deaths that's 0.0366 chance death rate, 7million folks in Az. You have a 0.00426 chance of getting the virus . Out of 7 million in Az. you have a 0.000156 chance of death
I appreciate what you’re saying but your logic is incorrect. The numbers you posted show the probability you currently HAVE or HAD the virus, not the probability of getting it.
It's refreshing to hear you express yourself. This is the second real answer that I've gotten out of you recently. Thank you for your forum contribution.

10 years might be the blanket range for ultimate immunity, but from the standpoint of general threat to the populous, it takes a couple years. For example, it took two years for 63% of Brazil’s populous to gain exposure to Zika virus which researchers deemed the right level for herd immunity. While not enough is yet known about rate of immunity that already exists for Wuhan specifically, some level of social distancing (not lock down!) might be recommended for the next year or so.

Added to the uncertainty is how long and to what degree past infection conveys ongoing immunity. Fortunately the mutation rate is still low, but we know so little about immunity.

For condo owners: You will be able to come to your places previous protocols and sanitizing. The reservation (as owner time) shall be made through the HOA ONLY (if you are not on the rental pool).
For RV owners: you will be able to come presenting your reservation slip only and may be required the sanitizing at the check point.
This is brand new fresh info directly from the city hall. 10 am of 06/12/2020
Word on the street is the city is charging a 2000 peso fee to sanitize your VRBO/Airbnb guest place for every time of checkin, bit much but might be feds doing, things change daily or by the minute, I did go through the sanitation tunnel and then denied entry into town. Manny's beach was given the ok to open on July 1 but how far does Manny's beach extend hopefully to the end of Las Conchas. That's just what I heard nothing set in stone.
Mannys beach is just becoming certified on July 1, not opening.
Mexico now has 63 beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag distinction, an international standard operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education to certify that beaches, ships and marinas have met the organization’s stringent environmental, educational, safety and access-related criteria.
The Blue Flag is awarded by a national and international jury which announced yesterday the addition of 10 beaches to the list of 53 that had already been awarded the distinction. The decision puts Mexico in first place for the Americas in the number of Blue Flag beaches and 13th in the world.
Those added to the list, which will be allowed to fly the Blue Flag beginning July 1, include three in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, two in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero; two in Puerto Progreso, Yucatán; one in Tulum, Quintana Roo; one in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas; and one in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.
Playaperro, can you tell us why you were denied? I'm planning on going down next week with a Condo reservation
but will also go to my Cholla house for a few days to get it ready for summer shut down.
Does anybody know if this might be a problem? I heard you need a sticker on your car to drive around.
I'm not mentioning my Cholla trip to them.
I will have my Cholla CFE bill and tax receipts with just in case. Thx

Broken we were just not rehearsed enough to get by the Marines they had an onslaught of questions, I had dual citizenship bank trust Mexican checkbook telmex CFE, even false tears, but in the end they asked if we left town without re entry paperwork and when we were last here person that I was with caved and said 5 months after we went through the sanitation tunnel, they told us unless we were going to funeral we were going back to USA. Seems things have changed for now but at the time I was told if I paid the 100 bucks for covid 19 test we were going to be allowed in if we were negative. I'm due to go down the 22 but if beaches are not open I think I will not attempt crossing. Those Marines were asses that day and scared my friend.
I would think Mexico is under reporting like many countries have. They have only reported 370K CV tested, there's 122 million people in Mexico
so the more you test, the numbers will increase but Mexico. Also Mexico and AZ are due to peak with new cases by July 1st.
Playa I'm guessing you don't have a Perm Res Card?
I know of a few people who went down before June 10th and got in. This week has been a problem for anyone.
Seems like the Perm Res card is the key along with a CFE bill to get in before they shut down owners entry on Sunday.
I'm going down next week with a resort stay receipt.
Thx for the update.
"Only 382 of those 1,273 infected sailors volunteered to participate in the CDC study."
So basically 382 PATRIOTS and 891 assholes that didn't want to cooperate with the now polarized CDC. What I don't understand is this is the military, couldn't they have been commanded to provide sample?? This is national security were talking about. Don't these solders take an oath to defend our country? We need information like this and 1273 people would have been an effective case study.
1/5 showed no symptoms
60% developed antibody
7 serious cases requiring hospitalization
1 death
Another key note: "The carrier's antibodies results go against scientific evidence suggesting that nearly everyone who has had COVID-19 — regardless of age, sex or severity of illness — should develop antibodies."
Face masks and avoiding public spaces on the ship proved to be commonalities among sailors who did not contract.

Have you served in the military? 891 assholes? Do your best to understand the meaning of volunteer, just because the militarily is an all volunteer force doesn't mean that you have no say in outside organizations requests. Your typical little bitch fest that just continues here unmoderated for our entertainment, really like your chicken dancing on the hot plate.
Maybe this has already been answered... If Penasco is "opening" next week, but the border remains closed to non-essential crossing, what difference does it make? Are authorities at the border not verifying whether people are essential or not?
The current closure lasts until June 22nd, and Canada was just extended into late July. Won't the same happen with Mexico?

If you are a Canadian currently in Puerto Peñasco the border status is an issue. There is no problem going south and US citizens with passports have no problem going north.

I thought the military was ideological. Meaning you join to serve a higher purpose. You join to protect and defend the United States and it's citizens. Yes, correct, they volunteered to do a job they get paid for. We all voluntarily support ourselves. The government doesn't force any of us to work. What is your point? I understand the meaning of being a PATRIOT and apparently 382 sailors felt the same way. What I can't understand from a psychological standpoint is what motive do they have for not cooperating? Is it a 4th amendment thing???? Please help me understand Pete.
If your sole purpose is to SERVE the united states of America, why wouldn't you willingly cooperate in a CDC study? Only reason I see is because politics has polarized the country so much now even science is taboo!
And no, I have not served Pete. I thought I was protected under the United States constitution under free speech and having the right to voice my opinion. Again, hard to believe for some but this is a DISCUSSION FORUM not a FACT FORUM. We discuss topics with opinions, some times supported by fact.

I believe the Canadian /American land border is only open to essential traffic . Does not include tourists.
The Puerto Peñasco Convention and Visitors Bureau Come to Rocky Point has provided information as to requirements on coming into town, as well as a list (to be continually updated) on Certified / Sanitized hotels / resorts / rental companies.
It is also important to keep in mind, as Puerto Peñasco enters this next phase on June 16th:
* Entry to the city will require a reservation at one of the Certified / Sanitized locations (found on the Come to Rocky Point page); as well as for condominium owners - contact your HOA for more information and instructions
* When going through Sonoyta after crossing border, MASKS ARE REQUIRED in your vehicle and don't forget speed limit is 25 MPH
* Pools at resorts & hotels will be open
* Golf courses open
* Only the concession beach area in front of hotels & resorts will be open (as of the latest info this week) - This includes the palapas in front of various resorts. The rest of the beach and to the water is not open yet.
* 10 pm curfew across the city
* Restaurants are open at 40% capacity (Check with them to see which days they are open - some have opened only 4 days a week)
* Nightclubs and bars (which aren't part of restaurant) are closed
* ATV (max 1 person) and RZR (max 2 people) rentals will be allowed, helmet law is in effect
* There is a city recommendation (this is not mandatory) to limit travel for children under 12 or adults over 65
* Be alert that in some locations (supermarkets, different restaurants) children under 12 are not allowed in
* MASKS (nose/mouth coverings) are REQUIRED in public spaces across the city. This includes shops, grocery stores, walking into restaurants - Please help out these businesses by following guidelines so they don't get fined
* The present limit on only 2 people per car will no longer be in effect - however EVERYONE in the car (when more than 1) MUST wear mask (and when just 1, have mask readily available)
* Malecon (boardwalk area, street vendors) is closed. Only certified/sanitized establishments in that area will be open
I'm debating taking the family down for the 4th of July. The checkpoints seem like a pain, and not having beach access is also a big negative. I guess we'll monitor the situation and see how things unfold in the next few weeks.
So if I read this right, I still can’t go to my house in Cholla?
I’ve thought about this for someone else. I think your best option is to get a booking for a minimum stay at one of the approved places on the cometorockypoint web site and then eat the cost. Makes little sense. I suspect that the city is running out of money and they need a fast infusion of tax revenue to meet payroll.
And when that booking/rental goes through the city's new central desanatization, tax collection, booger pickin, OOMAPAS, etc records?? Will your name appear there as an owner/ renter?? If not it will soon, as you will soon be required to desanatize and register said desanitisation with the city, using only approved chemicals and equipment using techniques of approved , trained technicians. I think soon ALL owners will be. All visitors will be at the new desanitation stops when they register, report their rental destination, and get their spray down and their new ID visitor ID cards. Owners will get their new ID cards at completion and certification of their initial treatment.. Remember. It's all about disease control. Oh my goodness, look here. This person was register to have ony 3 bottles of beer but there are 15 empties in the trash??
Bye bye to off the books tax and fees rentals.
There has been some discussion of requiring car and window washers to be sprayed down
So if I read this right, I still can’t go to my house in Cholla?
Correct, Owners have no established way to visit. You could rent a legal place and go and visit and stay at your house since assumedly it is not registered and no one will be there to check or record your visit. If someone comes by just tell them you are there for the decontamination. thins are so confusion no one knows anything.
I’m going to be purposely vague but I saw something interesting over the weekend. I saw between 6 and 10 street legal 4 wheel drive vehicles, coming from the direction of San Louis Rio Colorado and traveling at high speed off road, bypass he checkpoints and enter town. They were traveling in a convoy.

I've seen Casa Jardin on AirBnB... I believe they are single unit ocean front in Las Conchas if it's the same casa jardin. I feel bad for anyone that doesn't read the news or search for information before booking. How many people are going to book on Air BnB and be turned around at the stop?! These new rules are absolutely ridiculous!
Mexico is thinking about classifying tourism as ESSENTIAL. 11 million people are relying on tourism $$$$. I'd be happy to INFUSE a few hundred AMERICAN dollars INMEDIATAMENTE!!!!!
Just in case the hoarders are coming we bought a pack of toilet paper from Sam's Club today. They also have clorox wipes back finally. Looks like they got a shipment in. They also have flavored liquid creamer in vanilla and caramel.

The local residences will turn you in to the police if they see you there. Trust me I know, I had a visit from the police when I was down last month.
Rocky Point Dan Newsletter from this morning (6/16 | 9:20am) contained a list of approved properties & management companies, it looks to be an updated version of the list RPLIfe sent yesterday:
