Fishing the Big Rock 10/29 w-pics

Red Drum

Guest
Took a 2 day trip up to the Central Coast with my long time fishing buddy Joe “Triggerman”.
I had been telling Joe for years, that as much as he likes to fish Plastics and Iron, that he should join me on a trip to the Central Coast to do some shallow water Rockfishing.
We fished Sunday 10/28 out of Morro Bay. Here is Joe driving my 15ft aluminum boat “Red Drum”.

Joe and a nice Vermilion on the swimbait.

Joe with a keeper Lingcod on the Christmas Tree pattern Big Hammer swimbait.

Joe and his first ever Kelp Greenling.

Here I am with a nice Vermilion that ate a 6 inch Basstrix swimbait in Vanilla color.

Keeper Linger getting ready to be bled out.

We caught and released over 20 Lingcod on first day and almost all of them puked up Octopus, and the Vermilions puked up Squid.
Heading back to the harbor.

On Monday we fishing up at San Simeon and had a blast catching a bunch of shallow water Rockfish.
Early morning Vermilion that ate the Basstrix swimbait.

Joe and his personal best Cabezon.

Joe and another chunky Vermilion caught on a knock-off Krocodile.

Nice stringer of Rockies.

Catch o’ the day…sweet!!

Getting ready to head home.

Had another memorable trip with Joe and Central Coast, can’t wait to do it again. HOOK-UP!!
Till next tide,

Stay Thirsty My Friends
That is a big Cabezon.... I don't think I've seen or heard of any that big in a great many years.. Nice.

That's quite a pile of tacos in the bottom of that boat.
