Football in Casa Grande? Where've I been?

Can't believe I just found out about the new United Football League and that it has built facilities in Casa Grande for training, etc. Not that I think the new league has a snowball's chance in hell of making it, but that has to be good news for Casa Grande's economy-- at least for a couple of months.

In case I'm not the only one whose head has been buried somewhere unpleasant:

Two words - long since forgotten, although I actually have a bumper sticker that might be worth money someday - "Arizona Wranglers."

Anybody remember them and the USFL? Probably not...

This is going to be a lot more than a ball club training camp.
It is part of a chain of very high end and very expensive training facilities. They school and train young athletes to become professional or Olympic champions. From what I have heard it is only affordable to the super rich.

Maybe the UFL will become a "minor leagues" kind of deal, like in baseball, where NFL hopefuls will train and play, hoping to get noticed and moved up... :)

I remember the Arizona Wranglers, what was that mid 80's, early 90's?. They knocked down East High to build the field, right?

I was at the first game against Oakland. The Beach Boys opened the game with a show. That is about all I can remember. I know that East High was use by the Rattlers. You may be right as to the Wranglers using the facility. I just wish that PP/RP still had baseball. Too bad that the Sharks had to go away.
