Foreigners caught with drugs still face arrest in Portugal, a measure to prevent drug tourism.
The same is not true for Mexico, where there is no jail time for anyone caught with roughly four marijuana cigarettes, four lines of cocaine, 50 milligrams of heroin, 40 milligrams of methamphetamine or 0.015 milligrams of LSD.

INK...your going to need a bigger van!

Jerry, I will have a zero tolerance in my van, all passengers will have to surrender all drugs and alcohol before bording, however the party afterwards is going to be huge!!!ha, ha, ha!!! :eek3:
You know, what amazed me, in the US people can drink in the van as long as it is from the third row back, while in Mexico it is against the law to have any alcoholic beverage consumption in the vehicle at all, so all of you that stop at Sonoyta specially to buy that first drink watch out for the police and your drinking, it is illegal!!!! or undocumented, what do you think Cactus!!!

Lets see Story Problem Time:
Headed South the van goes 75 mph.it's 140 miles from Tucson too the border how many beers can I drink in row 3 before we reach the border.I drink one beer ever 12 minutes.

Headed North I can't find the van man.4 joints,3 lines of coke a dab of smack and a hit of acid makes it impossible to even come up with a North bound story problem!

Jerry, that is better than my all time winner of 12.5 minutes per cahuama (liter bottle of beer, I hope that is the size you are talking about?) however the main problem will be peeing on the run, since there are no pit stops on the way down other than at the casino b4 Why, hope your bladder is working good still!! :eek3:

This really changes nothing - drugs have always been available in Rocky Point (well, most anywhere) if you wanted them. It just removes the chance of being thrown in prison for getting caught with a joint. I'm sure the local police will hate this. It's one less way for them to rip off the gringos.

I seriously doubt there's going to be any huge uptick in tourism for drug vacations. Alcohol remains the #1 drug of choice for Spring Breakers and most everyone else and it has been and still is perfectly legal.

My sister and I found what turned out to be the ingredients for making meth-amphetamines stashed in a broken lamp in our house in January of this year. Don't know where it came from, but seems odd that "bales" of pot also "wash up" in front of our house from time to time. Guess when you don't live down there full time, and have to rely on a property manager, these things can happen, and unless you just happen to look in a broken lamp, you will never know what goes on when you're not there.

Keep in mind that this new law does not make it legal to buy or sell drugs, only to have those quantities in your possession.
