My husband and I went to the Mayan Cancun for our anniversary- it was a gift. We laughed because as we were leaving the "compound", the guard would ask us "where are you going?" Usually you get asked that question as you are entering. We're not into those all inclusive resorts and only spent $10 there (internet charge), the balance was spent in Tulum and Playa de Carmen.

Miramar; all inclusive resorts are that "ALL INCLUSIVE". For you to leave an all inclusive to eat drink is like not accepting the food on a cruise ship.

All inclusive (Cancun included) do not accept tips. Money is not seen as friendly.
The food, breakfast, lunch, dinner.... Wow, as much as you desire and is unbelievable feasts. All the drinks, including liquor is served at your heart desires. Each room even has self serve mime bars that have Whiskey, Gin, Vodka, mixers and are ALL INCLUSIVE.

Self serve this mini bar, it is ALL INCLUSIVE, ask and you shall receive and it is ALL INCLUSIVE. Toys, sailboats, etc, no charge because it is .... ALL INCLUSIVE. :p

I think some how you missed reading what the "ALL INCLUSIVE" includes.

FYI: the Mayan in RP is NOT all inclusive.

You might think it is silly

...but the fact is this is for your protection.

When you go out to sea, the best protection is to have others know where you went.

Same here...

Silly American? No

The "all inclusives" takes great pride in your protection and where you go is noted. They seriously want to know you are safe. Once outside all they have is a location of where you went. (just in case you do not return)

Do you ask your children where they are going? Same here, most silly americans are clueless tourist in a daze.... and the "gate keepers" all can do is take note you left to the ????

The all inclusive is a safe playground, once outside you are on your own... :notme:

timeshares - where to start?
first, we own one in Los Cabos, bought in May, 2001.
it's beautiful, on the beach, 2br 3ba, sleeps 6, full kitchen and all that resort stuff.
we shopped at Walmart for beer and groceries, and 2 trips to Costco for tequila, baileys and few other items while we were there for a week last month. drove about 400 miles in the rental car, exploring east cape (Los Barilles) and west baja up to Los Cerritos.
depositing our weeks with Interval International has given us opportunities to travel more, and see other places.
the resort itself is really nice, but it's not for everyone.
I like PDO even more than Los Cabos, so that's where we're at.
Mayan is available for us to trade - not interested.
we do have plans for Olympic Peninsula next year for a week, and also a request in for a week in the Caribberan
(either Antigua or Tortola). if you'll use it, and can afford it, timeshares are ok way to travel.
we wouldn't buy again, but the fact we have it, we'll keep using it and going elsewhere with our deposited weeks.

timeshares

We do the same thing. We have one in cabo and one in Maui. It's much nicer to trade in weeks than going to the same resort. Going to the Caribbean in May.going to lobos in 13 days ,life is good Leigh los Barriles is awesome. Did you get to go fishing?

Leigh,
missed hooking up with you on Jost this january, maybe next time.... or sometime in rocky point.....
yes, we did fish while in los cabos, but not at los barriles, we fished with gordo banks pangas out of
puerto los cabos marina, just east of san jose. 10 keepers: 5 yellowfin, 3 dorado, one amberjack and a fat trigger.
we ate very well for 4 nights, and brought home a nice cooler of filets.
love that new marina - VERY much set up for fishing, and nice expensive super-yachts.
will definitley use Eric and his fleet again.

does any one realize that your :time share: is not location specific?

We own in Mazatlan and have not been there in 9 years!
Many come to buy at Mayan (PP) and never expect to use it in Rocky Point!
