Netflix Connection?

i was having trouble accessing my business server from Mexico. A local IT came by and had me set up an account with AOL Desktop.
When I fire up my laptop, I log onto AOL desktop and get routed straight through to the AOL servers in the Midwest rather than going through Hermosillo. With that pathway open, i minimize AOL and am able to connect to any American website.
I have not tried Netflix but i would think it would work with my AOL "proxy server"
