I had dinner at Al Capones this past weekend (the food was excellent as usual) and I noticed that Capones is having a pig roast over the 4th of July weekend. Capones had a pig roast over Memorial Day weekend and the roasted pig was FANTASTIC! Capones roasts the pig in a pit overnight behind the restaurant wrapped in bananna leaves and stuffed full of fruits and spices. I had the roasted pig served with beans, cole slaw, tortillas, and BBQ sauce and I must say that the BBQ sauce that Chef Jose makes is great. If you are planning on heading down this weekend come by Capones and you will probably find me there stuffing my face with roasted pig and BBQ sauce.
