On Tuesday March 20th we started a little Spring Cleaning and decided to empty out our extra bedroom/storage room... the room was filled with canes, crutches, walkers, a wheelchair and various other mecical supplies... We had recently been talking with our friend Maria (waitress at La Curva) who volunteers at the DIF Therapy Center and she had said that DIF would be happy to take any and all donations of the type of equipment I previously mentioned... So our first load was 30 canes, 12 sets of crutches, 14 walkers, 4 prostetic legs (2 of which were the titanium type valued at $8000 each) 3 prostetic arms, several boot type removable casts and countless other supplies and medical equipment...
This past Tuesday the 27th, Barb and I delivered the smaller second load of medical equipment to the DIF Therapy Center and we were able to see one of the coolest things that was made possible by our friends but there are far too many of you who were involved to start naming names...
As soon as we pulled up to the Therapy Center, a mother and her young son were exiting, her son was sporting a brand new cast on his right leg from the knee down.... before we could get out of my truck, Luis Trujillo the director of the center was on his way out of the center exclaiming "Mira... Mira" and he was pointing in the direction of the young boy and he was telling us the crutches we delivered last week were already being put to use...
THAT"S TEAM WORK.... Thanks to Everyone involved for all your HELP getting the medical equipment and supplies to us... we have a connection to get almost anything they could need at the center... it's just a lack of transportation to get it here that's stopping us from already having it here....
