Nice size mako caught last week near the Dunes. They had a 2nd one hooked up, but it got away.

azfish you sound like you are into sharks??? Check this out SHARKSVILLE (that's not me in the photo BTW)

I've got 5 of the same as pictured, one is smaller, 2 are the same size, and the other two are big enough you can use them for basketball hoops... I'm thinking of selling some of my collection... I have a Shortfin Mako bigger than the Great White in the photos, I have Tintorera (a.k.a. Blue Shark) Lemon Shark, and Great Hammerhead too... also sell seperate GW Teeth many over 2 inches long, and I sell Gold capped GW Teeth
(I have been collecting shark jaws & teeth for most of my life, and all of my GW Jaws and teeth are from catches before the moritorium of 1998... I even own www.Sharksville.com)

Thanks Happy... I have many more photos, video footage and tons of great memories from out there... I've been going to the isla since 1989 when I did my open water certifacation dive... I also performed my first rescue that day just after I did my cert dive... that's was when I made the decission to become a Rescue Diver\divemaster... after getting the victom back to the panga that we took from Playa San Jorge... he just sat in the boat repeating to my wife over and over "Your husband just saved my life, I should be dead"... since then I have made 5 more rescues while working on our old boat the "Island Explorer" back when we were partners with the original Margaritavilla (with Rick Barnes) and the original Dive Shop "China Sea Sailing & Diving Company"... funny thing about that was Barb my wife was the manager of the dive shop and she can't even look at a boat without getting sea sick... that day on the panga when she wasn't laughing at the water (a.k.a. chumming), she just stared at a spot on the floor of the panga... she should have just jumped in the water...

Yes, I agree Happy...There are a lot of good places to fish at the island... there are tons of leopard grouper at the base of the Pinacle and the widow maker... and yes we've also caught many yellowtail... in fact when we were out there on my birthday last month we were catching them on sibikis... they made great Sushimi Sushi... (love that stuff) we used to catch a lot of little Blacktip and Hammerheads about 10 miles south of the isla... but haven't seen many of them out there lately...

I'm hoping the weather co-operates with us this weekend, we've got 10 people going to the isla aboard the Pacifica, 14 people fishing aboard the About Time and a private charter for 2 aboard the LeeLee... and we're taking a group clamming saturday

so far Spring Break is busy for us... the weather is here... Wish you were beautiful...

azfish LoL... yes the sharks need to eat... But I know I'm safe too... sharks don't eat shit...
