    Shrimp Embargo???

That's was the point of the embargo. There are new shrimp nets which allow for the escape of sea turtles. The U.S. State Dept is now satisfied, after inspections, Mexican Shrimpers have and are using the new turtle friendly nets, so the embargo was lifted.

    Gas prices...........

In Why, at the Casino last weekend, it was $2.69, and at the Chevron it was $2.85. In Penasco it was 8.21 pesos/liter which should convert (at 12 pesos/dollar) to $2.59. Hope that helps and have a great trip- we're coming down on Thursday.

    Golfing in P.P.

The groundskeeper at the Mayan gave my husband and I a tour, and it's beautiful. My father has played there, and he said it's very difficult. I like the fake saguaro they built so an osprey could build his nest on it by the estuary. High tide would be the most scenic time.

    Puerto Lobos Free Diving...

Is there anything like the sunken shrimp boat in Lobos around Penasco? If not, I wish they would sink a boat or put some of the broken cement somewhere in the water close to Penasco for diving, far enough out that the tide wouldn't affect it.

Rocky Point Beaches are better then California's because.........

    8. You can go clam digging 9. You can see dolphins and sea lions 10. You don't get hit by another surfer when trying to catch a wave 11. You can still find sea shells on the beach I'm sure there are more.

Thanksgiving weekend roll call - Nov 25, 2010

Has anyone tried a "Sand Turkey"? Last Thanksgiving, amongst much teasing, I dug a large pit, started a huge fire, then when the coals were hot, wrapped a turkey in aluminum foil which was put in an aluminum foil roaster, put the turkey on the coals, took some coals and put them on top of the...

When we were down last weekend, the Malecon was packed. Yes, there were more Mexican tourists than American, but the atmosphere in Old Port and the Governors' Plaza was great. My husband and I had a wonderful time- not often you get to see a play about a pregnant Mexican bride, drinking...
