Watch out if you have Warrants !!

5 years ago a friend of ours received a speeding ticket in New Mexico which she ignored. ($250 fine plus fees) Due to here failure to appear in court, the judge issued a warrant for her arrest. Fast forward to 3 years ago, while coming back into the US with us from Mexico they ran her drivers...

    Antibiotics

No antibiotics needed, Vit C, Chicken soup, a humidifier if you're coughing, laying out in the warm sun for a bit everyday and 3-5 days of time off from work is all you need.

    High tide at JJ's

I kind of miss all the submerged and floating cars parked at night behind JJ's, back in the day. The look on the peoples faces who finally stopped partying to notice there was 3-4 feet of water at JJ's back wall with their cars parked in it was sad, but priceless. ;)

    Soooooo, how cold is it?

Biting cold northwest wind Friday-Sunday night in Cholla. Put a damper on doing Astro-photography in Cholla last night. Lows at night were low 40's and highs were mid 50's, it was nicer in town yesterday without much wind, temps in low 60's. Came back to Cholla at 6 and it was pretty windy again.

    Building Blocks, Home Port

Having some Thick Skin is a must on most forums, other than the ugly personal attacks on some people that has occurred here, this forum is fine. :) Having a range going from Russ to Jerry is a great barometer of things going on here. IMO, They both deserve air time! Happy Holidays!! To All...

You can also use the windows short cut, character map for the accented letters. Type in "character nap" in the start menu search box, and add it to your task bar or desktop.

Does anyone one use two way radios in PP?

Here is a review of it. Don't mean to dampen your hopes, but less than 2 miles per the reviewers comments. http://www.twowayradioforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=783

Does anyone one use two way radios in PP?

My 2 way VHF radios were advertised as 12 mile range, I could never get more than 2 miles and that was traveling on Highway 85 flat areas. Within hill areas maybe 3/4 mile.

Tipping vs Panhandling I always try to tip 5-10+ pesos or a dollar when someone actually does a small task for us, like pumping gas, washing our windshield, bagging our groceries at stores, the parking lot guy at Super Ley, the guy that grills our meat and veggies at SL, the water store guy...

    Peso on the rise

Got 13.95 at Banorte's ATM minus the 38 peso fee for the tranaction from my US account. I saw a few 12.7 to 1 signs in RP this past weekend. Banorte was showing buy at 13.?? and sell at 13.7 when I hit their ATM. It was a different exchange rate every time I drove by this 4 day weekend.

    Insurance question

By having evidence of a forced entry (a broken window) makes it much easier to submit and process a claim. In Mexico the claim process is different compared to the USA. In the USA, I have had friends who had things stolen from their garage no sign of forced entry and it was covered, in Mexico...

    Merchandise into Mexico

The past 2 times I crossed with paint, some large dual pane windows and other assorted items I got the red light, they looked at the items and I told them they were for my house in Cholla, they also said ok and passé. Things have sure changed from 10-15 years ago when I had to always bring some...

Actually it was just the steam turbines they brought up from Penasco, they saved all the radioactivity stuff for the Phoenix area.;)

The surf was GLOWING last night.

I've seen it 4-5x in 20 years on Sandy Beach and around Pinto Pt. from my house in Cholla. I usually spend 35+ days a year there. Pretty rare it is. For night time pic's, if you have a camera tripod use it.
