They are not just going after the tourists. Seems like a very expensive fine after being closed for 4 months and then having to pay to have the cart sanitized, attend a class, buy extra cleaning things, masks, gloves and any other requirements the city imposed.

Abusive fine of 6,600 pesos reported against hot dog cart business in Puerto Peñasco

The small merchant affirmed that they did respect the assigned schedule, which is until 10:00 pm, and were only putting the utensils away, since they take time to cool down, however, the bureaucrats did not take the situation into account and decided to impose the penalty.

Wow that’s worse than OJ it was mean to fine this person that amount, it was 10.49pm and also didn’t want to identify themselves maybe that had something to do with the fine.

This was on Facebook:

"The jails are full in the evenings!
If you’re out after curfew, you’d better be prepared to pay $2900 pesos for each person or spend the night in jail!
A friend spent the night in jail last night and he said they even have kids there...teenagers! If you’re thirsty...one community cup is what you can ask for. Have to use the potty? Help yourself to the hole in the floor. Otherwise, wait until curfew is over at 6:00 am to be released."

So a packed jail cell and a community cup is not contributing to the spread of the virus???

Now remember the restaurants are open until 10:00. I saw a post that a worker on his way home was stopped and had to pay the fine or go to jail. He chose to sit in jail otherwise he would not be able to pay his rent or buy food for his family if he paid the 2900 pesos. So how do they allow them to stay open until curfew and expect the customers, workers, and owners to then get home by 10:00 pm??? I know it's all about the money.

The city can't help but shoot themselves in the foot. It's a cultural thing... Eroding every last bit of CONSUMER CONFIDENCE.

From what I've heard about him I wouldn't be commenting on a public forum... I'll just leave it at that. Have you seen his house up there on the hill?

I agree. We have had bad chicken, beef and pork. We got a rotten beef tenderloin from Sam's Club. The whole kitchen smelled when we opened the bag. They took it back. The color looked good, but was rotten. Just got bad bacon from Sam's this week and still paying for it. Had to take medicine for this one.

Maybe the filter will be down soon. Rocky Point 360 update

Bars (except for restaurant/bars), night clubs, and casinos remain closed until further notice. In addition, the city’s 10 p.m. curfew is still in effect and the health filter at the entry to town on the Sonoyta-Puerto Peñasco highway is to remain in place through the end of August or possibly early September
