Are they ever going to splash the boat in your last picture Stu? They have been building that boat for about 10 years now.

Uh . . . I was being what they call facetious. (Clue: I was the first to give your comment a thumbs up.) I was merely reinforcing your point that the thread is getting tiresome (vulgar). As for my "weak-ass political shit," I don't share political stuff here, and don't engage with others who do. If you want to me to GTFO, I can do that, as many others who support a friendlier, nonpolitical, civil forum of yesteryear have already done.
You"re taking something personally that was meant for the forum as a whole. The point STILL being, the shitbickering about politics adds nothing of value to this thread.

They'll splash it when I win the lotto and buy it.

It is quite the boat. I've heard that Gus Brown owns it. But there it sits, as it has for years.

U.S. Fishing embargo and high cost of diesel impact local fleet

Mexican president Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s decision to not restore fuel subsidies for fishing fleets, along with lack of progress on ending a U.S. fishing embargo specifically impacting the Upper Gulf of California, exacerbates the severe crisis Puerto Peñasco’s fishermen have been facing since March, stated Mateo López León, representative of the Shipbuilders Federation for the Upper Gulf of California.

López León regrets the federal government’s lack of attention to the serious problem of profit loss and impact of the fishing embargo in the Upper Gulf of California. These concerns mean 80% of Puerto Peñaco’s production will not be exportable to the U.S., which is its main market.

He stressed the current situation is unsustainable for the 130 boats in Puerto Peñasco’s fleet, not due to a lack of fisheries but rather operation costs that are already in the red. This may result in several boats not going out once the shrimp season fully begins on September 29th.

The U.S. fishing embargo, which has been in place since August 2018 as a measure to preserve the endangered vaquita marina, now extends beyond the Upper Gulf of California Biosphere Reserve to encompass the restricted area of Puerto Lobos and Puertecitos, severely harming Puerto Peñasco’s fishing industry.

Gus Brown... I'd really like to know this guy's history. How did the government gift so much land to him????? After the revolution? And it wasn't ejido land either... which to my understanding can't be turned into a commercial development or sold??? I've heard stories.... I want to know what is true. Is this the most interesting man in Puerto Penasco? KEEP IT INTERESANTE!

Maybe time to start thinking outside of the box. The pacific side of Mexico doesn't seem to have this problem. There is HUGE awareness in Baja for conservation. Places like Mag Bay lead the way in conservation of Grouper. JULIO MEZA is who you need to read about. Stuart might know of this guy. They've also adopted the fish farming strategy on the Pacific side of Baja with Tuna pens.... Open ocean fish farming is going to be the new trend over the next 20 years or so. Why couldn't the Penasco fleet start to farm seafood?

Wonder if you can choose between a scolding or a banana's worth of radiation?
Crossed back yesterday and just where you headed and ran passports no x-ray no bull, unlike when I passed with the sicaria they held us for over an hour couple months ago.

Nice thought, but tough due to the geophysics of the area - steep tide, shallow water depth, water temps into the 90s in the summer. The Pacific side is much different.

Nearly all Atlantic salmon are farmed these days and there's lots of issues around it -- disease being a huge one and the massive use of antibiotics used to treat them. Farmed stock escaping into the wild and spreading disease to native fish.

Shrimp, maybe. They used to farm them in Gila Bend, but I think that operation busted. Nearly all the frozen shrimp in markets are farmed in Vietnam. White shrimp with little flavor. Still nothing as sweet as a wild caught Rocky Point blue or brown.

Don't know if you remember this or not... but feces occurs:

There was a facility just east of the school, CETMAR, near the entrance to Las Conchas many years ago where they farmed shrimp. Closed a long time ago.

Blue oasis shrimp farm north of las Vegas that supplies the casinos , not sure if they are still in business with all this Chinese virus crap .

I think our so called experts along with the media scared the carp out of us and shut down the country over a flue virus and now people have lost their jobs , homes business and medical insurance that was tied to the company that no longer exists . You look up the 1918 Spanish flue that infected 500 million world wide and killed between 20 and 50 million people at the same time fighting world war 1 . That carp .

Finally I understand ....carp means crap. You screwed up. Covid -19 is not a flue virus. We have a vaccine for the flue and not yet for Covid -19.
Wake up .
