Got some good kayak fishing in from Playa Encanto while staying there last week. Each morning I paddled about 2 miles to the reefs at the mouth of Morua Estuary. That is one beautiful spot. The tides cooperated with a rising tide each morning. The first reefs are exposed even with high tide...

It's a shot in the arm for sure. A lot of people will give credence to what the mayor of Tucson says. A lot of people won't too, but they wouldn't be going to RP anyway.

I'll be up next week so I'd be interested too since we'll be across the estuary at Play Encanto. My kayak can easily handle a 1-2 mile paddle out to get into some Sierra.

Sadly, our previous rental contact is no longer renting. Does any one have suggestions of where to find a beachfront house or townhouse for rent? Preferably Playa Encanto or Play La Jolla since they're close to Morua estuary (kayak fishing) but Cholla bay and Las Conchas areas also sound...

This forum is off to a great start. My last trip started right as we arrived at the parking lot of the Grateful Dead concert. There was this guy in a tie die and, well, you know the rest.

Corvina are excellent. Agree the leatherjack are good - first ocean fish I ever caught. Never caught flounder. I'm goingto bring a seine for baitfish next time. I know the kids would love netting them. Are silversides identifiable? Just look for silvery little fish?

A generally well-informed couple that we travel to Mexico with is asking me if children are now required (at least by the letter of the law) to have passport cards. Everything I read indicates this is false, but can any one enlighten me? Has there been a change in U.S. policy? Thanks!
