Stuart, Those big knot-head Seals can really wreak havoc on a White Seabass. They also really mess up my bait cages and hoop-nets when I'm out hooping for Lobsters. I would love to be able to just shoot them dogs...they piss me off big time. Great report and congrats for at least getting...

Went out for an afternoon fishing/hooping trip with David "bajaconcept". David has a place in Cholla Bay and we'll probably be done there in April to whack some biggun's...can't wait, sure hope it happens. Sea and weather conditions were excellent until 7pm when rain and Santa Ana winds kicked...

South end of Becher's Bay at Santa Rosa Island. Straight out in front of the Torrey Pine forest at 33° 59.514'N 120° 1.027'W The big Elk and Mule Deer used to love bedding down in that forest before they eradicated them from the island two years ago...that SUCKED!!! About a 30 mile boat ride...

Also, I have to agree with what Leigh said, "Halibut cheek meat is awesome!"

Maybe even as far as Clarion Island. My buddy got back from a 14 day trip a couple of weeks ago on the Red Rooster, and whack a bunch of big Yellowfin, Wahoo, Yellowtail and Groupers.

Those swimmer/blue crabs are so good in the SOC, just like the ones I used to catch back in the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia and Maryland...yumyum!!

I saw a Flying Fish about a month ago at San Clemente Island, get spooked out of the water by a Seal, and as it was cruising over a kelp forest, a Pelican flew down and ate the Flying Fish in mid-flight...that was friggin' awesome to see, wish I had gotten it on video.

Got an invite from David “Baja Concept” to fish Saturday aboard his 27ft Panga, down by the 1010 trench. Also, Mike “Bajamike” joined us for the trip. Left Shelter Island at 12 midnight and made down to the trench at 6am. Put out the jigs out at grey light and got nailed by the first fish of...
