    Permanent Resident Card?

At this point, I would say we will be residents of both the US & MX. I definitely want to to follow the rules of both countries.

    Permanent Resident Card?

Thanks all. Do you know if Peñasco is in the limited area we can have a US plated vehicle? I've had my FM3 / temp res card for 4 years and can go perm this year. We are in the slow process of moving to Peñasco but will be going back and forth to the US a lot. We would prefer to not...

    Permanent Resident Card?

Gracias playaperro, that does address some of the concerns I had. It also mentions amnesty & variations in how rules are enforced. I'm trying to find the authoritative rules since the consequences can be punitive. It sounds like I might have to scour Aduana for the car rules. I'd really like...

    Permanent Resident Card?

Where can I find the requirements for permanent resident card holders? Rules regarding cars, border crossing, tax rules, etc. and anything else of importance. Would prefer a site in English, but Spanish is OK, thanks to translators.

    Sonoran Resorts March 2014 Newsletter

It's always been my philosophy that it's normal to be abnormal & abnormal to be normal. After all, how many people do you know who are "normal?" Sorry for the further derailment.

What's the monthly cost of Wildblue or Exede? We're currently using TelMex. Basic plan (only 3 mbps down) with phone for $30 dlls per month. It meets our needs, but always looking for good alternatives.

    Depreciation: Land v Building Value

Check the appraisal section of the fideicomiso. You might be able to get an estimate from there.

    Safe in Puerto Penasco?

The Oasis Restaurant just west of Austin is very nice. Haven't been there in a couple of years. Everybody applauds as the sun sets on the lake. Of course, I seriously doubt many of them have seen a Peñasco sunset. (Sorry - had to edit. When I first read the post I thought you were referring...

Changing an Electric Account with CFE

It's been a couple of years, but I think I took my fideicomiso, a current bill (in old name) and my ID. It was pretty easy. I think there was a small fee?

    Safe in Puerto Penasco?

I guess you can understand why we try to spend as much time as we can in Peñasco! Maybe some day we'll move there.

    Safe in Puerto Penasco?

The drive from New Mexico to Peñasco is not bad. We take a very long day to get from central TX to Wilcox (about an hour or 2 east of Tucson) and cross the next morning. The worst part of our drive is getting out of TX! Enjoy your trip!

Has the forum been down for the last 2-3 days?

I couldn't get in from my phone or Mac. Tried a different phone and it worked! Must have been a coincidence.

    Property Tax 2014?

Is there a way to find and pay the property taxes online? A couple of years ago I tried to pay them early and was able to request a copy of my bill be e-mailed to me. The link he gave me no longer works. I was able to find the new City website on the Twin Dolphins website. But I'm not...

    Vehicle rentals in Penaso

Yes, I thought it sounded interesting, too. Not sure of the details, but worth looking for folks driving in from Phoenix airport. In our case, we were picking them up at the airport, but we didn't even know about this option until we were returning the car.

    Vehicle rentals in Penaso

We rented a compact car from Bufalo for the week of Thanksgiving for $4500 pesos (pay 6 days get 7th free). It included Mex and US insurance and unlimited miles. When we returned the car (and got back all $2000 peso deposit), they told us about their chauffeur (?) airport service. If you rent...

    New BOA Fees?

My credit union (in TX) charges $1.50 because the ATM is out of their network. You may want to check the credit unions around you. I have heard that some don't charge any fees, but I don't know which ones they are.
