Just a heads up on the day after Thanksgiving Bird Island trip. I talked to Barb and she said their internet has been out since the storm. So no e-mails or US phone. Her TelMex and Mex cell phones are the only way to reach them right now. She said to just meet at the boat.
Back home in Austin / Central Texas would love this rain - so badly needed there. But there, 1.6" of rain wouldn't make a dent in the drought! (The day we had 4" of rain did get people's attention.) But, yes, the long, soakers are the best.
I know it can take a while, but at least the process can begin now. I was here for the Bike Rally flood. Some of that water hung around for almost a week (or so it seemed?). But I never saw any of the roads get as bad as they did in LC during this rain storm.
We made it! Did get stuck near the condos, but the guards dug us out. Great way to show off our desert town to 1st time visitors!
Our dog was happy to see us.
Can you send me the number for the guard shack? So we can double check when we get in? We're in Gila Bend and will lose data service soon. I'll check back when we find wi-fi in Peñasco.
Thanks so much!
Already made the reservation! Yep, I've heard that acronym meaning before. This one's a bit newer - 2012 model. Hecho en Mexico. Bought in the US. Parts from everywhere.
Thanks for the suggestion. We'll see if it's there. We just want to make sure it's big enough for four adults & luggage. (Might be a bit uncomfortable if we were to pick them up in our 2 door Fiat!)
We looked around the other day and they all looked fine - good condition - and 4 doors.
Just curious --
We'll be renting a car from Bufalo and then driving it to the Phoenix airport to pick up friends. We're used to crossing the border & going through the AZ checkpoints, but have never done it with Sonoran license plates. Is there anything we should know about? I'm guessing...
Hey GV,
It was nice meeting you this trip. You had me fooled -- it looked to me like your "old joints" were working just fine, and should have plenty more trips left in them.
If you set up an account with a local bank, you can probably pay most (all?) bills online through them.
For TelMex, you can use TelMex USA to set up an automatic bill payment (charged to your US credit card). You can also do it manually each month through their website.
